Why is this job for you:

The IT Asset Management Manager will be a part of the Infrastructure, Security & Services Organisation, reporting directly into the Head of Service Management & Performance.

The role will be responsible for leading all aspects of IT Asset Management functions across DS Smith to optimize IT asset lifecycle, reduce cost and risk, ensure compliance, and enable accurate financial and inventory reporting. You will be building and managing processes, governance, tooling, and cross functional relationships to manage hardware, software, cloud entitlements, and other IT assets across the enterprise.

You will:

  • Design, implement and continuously improve global ITAM strategy, policies and standards for Hardware & Software Assets

  • Provide leadership, vision, strategic planning and execution of ITAM processes

  • Manage all aspects of IT asset lifecycle — from purchase to disposal

  • Collaborate with all IT service providers and product owners to manage and optimize the assets, services and support

  • Lead software license and cloud entitlement management: track usage, optimize entitlements, manage renewals and reduce overspend

  • Establish and report ITAM KPIs (inventory accuracy, compliance position, cost savings, asset utilization, refresh cadence, etc) to senior stakeholders.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting for hardware and software spend

  • Lead, mentor and grow a distributed ITAM team

  • Manage optimalizations and integrations of ITAM tools

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors

  • Maintain the accuracy of the Asset Management Database within Service Now

  • Act as the liaison between internal stakeholders and external auditors

  • Drive sustainable disposal and e-waste practices in line with Environmental and data sanitation policies

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management and a strong background in ITAM governance and vendor management

  • Comprehensive understanding of core ITIL Processes

  • Proven experience operating in a multinational environment with distributed teams and complex procurement and licensing models

  • Strong knowledge of HAM, SAM, ITAM best practices, asset lifecycle management, software licensing (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, VMware), and cloud cost & entitlement management

  • Hands-on experience with ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow ITAM/SAM, Flexera) and CMDB/ITSM/ERP integrations

  • Experience managing vendor relationships, audits and contract/renewal negotiations

  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks and secure disposal and data sanitization requirements

  • Fluency in English
