Sr. Director, Client Partner (London)
This is a hybrid position based out of our Material London office.
About Us
We drive intelligent growth for ambitious businesses and leading brands.
Customer understanding is more potent and drives greater value when insights go to work directly within marketing and experience priorities. To give our clients that advantage, we put an insights-driven operating system at the core of our design, go-to-market, and digital experience solutions.
Material clients make smarter growth choices because they can see clearly how and when to take the shots that count. Together, we connect consumer intelligence with customer demand generation to build lasting, profitable relationships.
About the Sr. Director, Client Partner Role
This role will be responsible for prospecting and engaging with senior-level clients to drive strategies and meet clients' objectives in the Martech, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Marketing space.
The Sr. Director, Client Partner supports Material's goals by maintaining and growing existing client relationships and contributing to efforts that establish relationships with new clients, with a focus on marketing technology, AI solutions, digital experience, and connected customer engagement.
We are looking for someone with deep fluency in how modern marketing organizations buy and use technology — someone who is credible with CMOs, marketing ops leaders, and digital transformation teams, and who can articulate how Material's capabilities create measurable impact in that world.
As a Sr. Director, Client Partner, you will
Prospect for new client relationships, independently or in collaboration with business development colleagues, with a focus on marketing-led organizations investing in AI, Martech and Digital Transformation
Lead the pursuit of new opportunities — from scoping and proposal development through to close
Own a portfolio of client accounts, serving as the primary relationship lead and commercial owner responsible for retention, growth, and overall client satisfaction
Prioritize deep relationship-building with senior client stakeholders — going beyond transactional engagement to become a trusted partner and advisor on their marketing and digital priorities
Identify and pursue growth opportunities within accounts, including expansion into new service areas such as marketing technology strategy, digital experience, loyalty, and data-driven marketing
Inspire and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver compelling, commercially sound proposals on digital experience, martech, and marketing effectiveness engagements
Communicate persuasively with senior client stakeholders — CMOs, marketing ops leaders, and heads of digital and customer experience — on behalf of Material
Build and manage a healthy pipeline, with accountability for accurate forecasting and billing oversight on services sold
Develop a strong working knowledge of Material's full service portfolio over time, with the ability to represent and connect capabilities to client needs
Advocate for and model an agile, design thinking approach to solving complex client challenges
About You
12+ years of client-facing experience in marketing services, martech consulting, digital agency, or related environments — with a track record of growing accounts and closing new business
Deep understanding of the AI, Martech and Digital Marketing landscape — including marketing technology strategy, digital experience platforms, marketing ops, and connected customer engagement
Credible and confident with senior marketing leaders; able to engage CMOs, VP Marketing, and digital transformation decision-makers as a peer
Strong commercial instincts — able to identify, scope, and close growth opportunities within and beyond existing client relationships
Experience working in a matrixed organization, collaborating across service lines, practice leads, and delivery teams to bring the right solution to clients
Excellent communication, presentation, and proposal skills; experienced in senior-level sales pursuits
Available to travel within Europe as required
Strong financial management skills, including account forecasting and P&L oversight
