Member of Technical Staff, AI Engineer
About the Role
Join a well-funded, AI-native insurtech startup reshaping how commercial insurance is bought and sold. This company is on a mission to move the industry from human-led to AI-led workflows — automating quoting, underwriting, and customer service at scale across a multi-trillion-dollar market. As a Member of Technical Staff, AI Engineer, you'll be a founding-tier engineer who designs and ships production AI systems from day one, while also prototyping the next generation of fully autonomous AI agents handling real, business-critical insurance operations.
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at a small but rapidly growing team. You'll work closely with AI researchers and business stakeholders to turn cutting-edge research into reliable production systems.
What You'll Do
Design and ship AI-native applications that automate core insurance workflows including quoting, underwriting, and customer service at scale.
Ensure the reliability, observability, and scalability of AI services running in production.
Architect and build distributed, scalable backend systems to support rapidly growing operations.
Prototype and iterate on fully autonomous AI agents that handle end-to-end insurance operations with minimal human intervention.
Collaborate with AI researchers to model and leverage contextual data to enhance agent capabilities and decision-making.
