Director, GTO Digital Transformation

Gaithersburg, MDPosted Jul 29, 2026

Job Summary:

The Director, GTO Digital Initiatives leads the day-to-day delivery of priority digital transformation initiatives within the GTO digital portfolio. This role converts portfolio priorities into executable delivery plans, coordinates matrixed contributors, strengthens governance and delivery field, and provides portfolio management support to the Senior Director, GTO Digital Transformation.

The initial anchor program for this role is the Biologics workstream within the OPS2030 Digital Tech Transfer initiative, including associated pilots and scale-readiness activities. Over time, the role may also support other GTO digital initiatives requiring senior delivery leadership, transformation field, and cross-functional coordination.

This is a delivery and coordination leadership role, not a portfolio ownership role. Strategy, direction, roadmap, prioritization, budget ownership, and enterprise program accountability remain with the Senior Director, GTO Digital Transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Initiative Delivery

  • Lead delivery execution: Lead day-to-day delivery of assigned GTO digital initiatives, beginning with the Biologics Digital Tech Transfer workstream and growing to other priority initiatives as portfolio needs evolve.
  • Manage pilots and workstreams: Own planning, execution, achievement tracking, risk management, dependency management, and readiness for scale for assigned pilots and workstreams.
  • Translate strategy into execution: Convert priorities established by the Senior Director and governance teams into executable delivery plans, achievements, decision points, and blocking issue pathways.
  • Represent Biologics requirements: Ensure Biologics requirements are represented across Development, Commercial, Alexion, and site perspectives for the initial DTT anchor program.
  • Coordinate enabling partners: Partner with Data, Architecture, IT, PMO, Enterprise Data Office, and other capability teams to support foundations, domain models, semantic layers, integrations, and governance needs.

Portfolio Management Support:

  • Maintain portfolio tracking: Manage portfolio tracking, delivery cadence, status reporting, dependency views, and governance materials on behalf of the Senior Director.
  • Prepare governance updates: Develop clear program and governance updates that proactively surface risks, blockers, decision needs, and resource gaps.
  • Support intake and roadmap hygiene: Maintain intake subject area and roadmap updates while recognizing that prioritization, scope approval, and trade-off decisions remain with the Senior Director.

Financial and Delivery Management

  • Track initiative financials: Own forecast versus actual spend, accruals, cross-charges, vendor and purchase order status, and budget risks for assigned initiatives and workstreams.
  • Track delivery performance: Maintain project and task tracking for breakthroughs, risks, actions, dependencies, resource demand, and delivery readiness.
  • Provide regular reporting: Report financial and delivery status on a defined cadence without requiring repeated follow-up.

Transformation and Future-State Build

  • Drive process re imagination: Advance simplification, automation, AI-enabled workflows, knowledge retention, and scalable future-state ways of working.
  • Translate concepts into delivery: Convert transformation opportunities into pilots, use cases, business capabilities, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Challenge status quo: Help move programs beyond simple digitization toward redesigned, data-enabled, and AI-ready tech transfer processes.
