Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Functions Supplier Management Office (FSMO) is seeking a Manager, Risk Supplier Management, to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Policy and Standards requirements and driving effective supplier governance across the Functions Portfolio. You will work collaboratively with Business partners, Centre of governance and technology teams to safeguard RBC's risk posture through comprehensive supplier due diligence and ongoing relationship management.

What will you do?

Third-Party Risk Management & Compliance

  • In accordance with RBC's Enterprise Policy on Third Party, Non-supplier third party (NSTP) and Intra-Group service providers, lead day-to-day execution of Supplier Risk Management Assessments following RBC's TPRM established processes and OSFI guidelines
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and document risk requirements for new and existing supplier engagements
  • Ensure effective management and implementation of appropriate controls for third-party arrangements aligned to TPRM policies to monitor and mitigate supplier engagement risk across the FSMO portfolio, including performance monitoring, exit strategy assurance, SOC reviews, and termination activities
  • Utilize all available tools (e.g. RBC Assist Pro, approved AI channels, dashboards) to streamline information gathering and summarizing activities as well as investigating adherence to TPRM and regulatory requirements

Issue Resolution & Escalation

  • Triage operational issues and risks, applying judgment to determine appropriate resolution or escalation to senior management
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to resolve issues and implement mitigation strategies

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Support the development and maintenance of supplier risk management procedures and process documentation
  • Drive incremental improvements to existing supplier management processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
  • Support governance reporting and provide visibility on supplier risk posture to senior leadership
  • Document and communicate risk findings and mitigation strategies across business partners

Team Support & Knowledge Sharing

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to business partners and junior team members
  • Contribute to continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the FSMO team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in risk management, supplier management, or related operational roles, including experience with risk governance practices, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) frameworks and regulatory requirements (OSFI, RBC policies)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews
  • Growth mindset with demonstrated ability to learn and adapt in a fast pace regulated environment. Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise flexibility, and work with resourcefulness in a complex environment
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen with an operational perspective.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences. Strong relationship-building and client focus capabilities

Nice-to-Have

  • Formal supplier management certifications or designations (CTPRP, CRM, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of supplier risk management tools (such as Archer or Ivalua)
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
  • Proficiency with contract lifecycle management
  • Project or process improvement experience
  • Experience using approved AI tools to enhance productivity
