Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the financial management and accounting activities of the company's Digital organization. The position provides operational finance support across spend management, forecasting, financial close, accounting compliance, and reporting activities.

The Financial Analyst works closely with senior finance team members to manage digital spend, maintain financial master data, perform variance analysis, support month-end close activities, and ensure the accuracy of financial records. The ideal candidate possesses a solid accounting foundation, strong analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for simplifying processes and automating repetitive activities.

Responsibilities

Spend Management & Financial Analysis

  • Support the financial management of Digital organization expenses, including workforce, contractor, software, cloud, and operational spend.
  • Monitor actual spending against budget and forecast and perform variance analysis to identify key spending drivers.
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting activities.
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to support decision-making by senior finance team members.
  • Support the tracking and reporting of digital investment and technology-related expenditures.

Accounting & Financial Close

  • Prepare and book journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, allocations, cross-charges, and other month-end adjustments.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Research and resolve financial discrepancies, accounting issues, and transactional exceptions.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions and audit requirements.
  • Partner with accounting, payroll, procurement, and master data teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Software & Workforce Accounting Support

  • Apply accounting principles related to software, cloud services, subscription-based solutions, and technology investments.
  • Support analysis of software spending and appropriate accounting treatment, including capitalization and expense considerations.
  • Assist with capitalization calculations, amortization tracking, and financial reporting activities.
  • Support workforce and labor cost forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Monitor employee and contractor spending trends and maintain workforce-related financial data.

Financial Master Data & Governance

  • Maintain and validate financial master data elements, including cost centers, projects, programs, funding structures, and other finance attributes.
  • Perform regular data quality reviews and support issue resolution activities.
  • Ensure transactions are aligned to approved financial structures and reporting requirements.
  • Support governance activities and adherence to financial policies and procedures.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Support automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
  • Leverage digital tools and reporting solutions to streamline recurring activities.
  • Continuously evaluate and document process improvements and best practices.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Typically 4–6 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Financial Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and journal entry preparation.
  • Experience managing or analyzing operating expenses and workforce costs.
  • Exposure to technology, software, or digital finance environments is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of software accounting concepts, including capitalization and amortization principles.
  • Familiarity with workforce and labor accounting practices.
  • Experience working with ERP and financial planning systems.
  • Experience with automation or process improvement initiatives.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certifications are a plus but not required.
