Job ID: LP_00026416-2653220Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThis paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job. The Senior Radiologic Technologist independently provides knowledge and competence in a variety of diagnostic imaging technologies. Performs and conducts moderate-to-complex diagnostic radiology procedures using operating radiographic equipment. Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures to reach a medical diagnosis and decision. Ensures that equipment is constantly functional and ready for immediate use. Maintains records and reports on equipment, procedures performed, and billing. Works under the guidance of Radiologists; participates in the resident training program and may be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the training of Radiology students, house staff, or others, in diagnostic imaging procedures, protocols, and equipment and/or safety issues. May serve as a preceptor for Radiologic Technologists in training.Primary responsibility is to ensure the safest and highest quality patient care by performing a range of essential tasks. This includes patient screening, thorough preparation, education, and the delivery of imaging services. Operates various imaging and ancillary equipment and manages information systems. Meticulous adherence to established policies and department-specific processes and procedures is expected to maintain the highest standards of medical imaging excellence. Commitment to professionalism is essential for fostering a compassionate and respectful environment for patients, families, and staff. Plays a crucial role in accurately documenting procedures to ensure the protection of patient health information (PHI) and the integrity of data.
