Job Description:

Schedule:
PRN position with variable scheduling based on patient volume.

Shifts generally begin at 5:30 AM and typically ends at 12:00 PM, with flexibility required as shift lengths may vary.

PRN Rate: $45.39/hour ​

  • Assesses and documents patients and family's needs to provide necessary data for quality care.
  • Gathers and analyzes data to formulate initial nursing care and discharge plans.
  • Identifies and reports patient condition abnormalities to anesthesia or surgeon.
  • Observes and assesses assigned patients during their stay in the outpatient surgery department.
  • Documents medications, drug allergies, and patient information.
  • Implements and documents nursing interventions and physician's orders accurately and promptly.
  • Prepares and administers medications, IV fluids, and blood products according to orders and hospital policy.
  • Coordinates scheduling and preparation for various procedures.
  • Communicates with patients and families, providing pre-op and post-op education and addressing their needs.
  • Utilizes the Computerized Physician Order entry process and proficiently uses the Electronic Medical Record for retrieval of patient information.
  • Maintains a safe environment by checking equipment, stocking supplies, and reporting safety concerns.
  • Participates in professional development and maintain required certifications and competencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High level of organizational skills. [Required]
  • Computer skills required. [Required]


Education:

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 1+ previous experience as RN on surgical floor or recovery room, preferably surgical unit [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required[
  • Added Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$33.28 - $61.91
