Senior Facilities Engineer (Commissioning & Startup)

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to support the successful execution of engineering projects within a leading semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role provides onsite engineering support for facility expansion, system upgrades, commissioning, startup, and operational transition projects while ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project and operational requirements. This position requires strong collaboration across engineering, construction, operations, and project teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite facilities engineering support for large-scale expansion, upgrade, commissioning, startup, and operational transition projects.
- Lead and participate in design reviews to ensure system reliability, operability, maintainability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Support construction and field execution activities, including issue resolution, technical troubleshooting, and contractor coordination.
- Plan, execute, and support commissioning, startup, testing, and system turnover activities.
- Act as the engineering focal point between project teams, operations, design partners, construction contractors, and stakeholders.
- Drive project-to-operations transition activities, ensuring systems are safely and effectively handed over to facility operations teams.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and execution risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track engineering deliverables, startup readiness metrics, punch lists, and execution milestones, providing regular status updates to project leadership.
- Review technical documentation, procedures, commissioning reports, and turnover packages to ensure quality and completeness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and apply lessons learned to improve safety, reliability, and project execution performance.
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
- 3-5 years of facilities engineering experience supporting mission-critical environments such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data centers, advanced manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Experience supporting facility expansion, capital projects, commissioning, startup, or operational readiness activities.
- Knowledge of facility utility systems and infrastructure within high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Experience reviewing engineering documentation, commissioning plans, turnover packages, and technical procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, construction, operations, and project management teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
