This Role
As a Social Content Creator & On-Camera Talent Intern, you'll be the face and voice of our social channels. This role is equal parts performer and producer — you'll star in content across three social channels while also helping shoot and edit it. If you light up in front of a camera, love striking up conversations with people you've never met, and have a knack for turning an everyday moment into something worth stopping to watch, this is built for you.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
On-Camera & Content Creation
- Serve as recurring on-camera talent across three social media channels, bringing energy, personality, and authenticity to every shoot.
- Comfortably initiate conversations with members of the public to capture organic, person-on-the-street style content, following our team's consent and release protocols.
- Pitch and develop creative, out-of-the-box content concepts that stand out in a crowded feed.
- Bring a playful, good-humored energy on camera and a willingness to embrace lighthearted, unscripted moments.
- Shoot and edit short-form video content from concept through final cut, ready to publish.
- Adapt tone, format, and delivery to fit the personality of each of the three channels.
Strategy & Collaboration
- Apply core social media and marketing principles to inform content decisions — what drives engagement, what fits platform best practices, and what fits brand voice.
- Collaborate with the social team to brainstorm concepts, storylines, and formats ahead of shoots.
- Track content performance and bring learnings back into future ideas.
- Stay plugged into platform trends, sounds, and formats, and help the team move quickly on what's culturally relevant.
ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
- Education: Current student in their third year or beyond of a bachelor's program, currently enrolled in a master's program, or has graduated within the past year.
- Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule onsite in our New York Office (Flatiron District).
- Genuinely comfortable on camera, with a natural, magnetic presence — this isn't something you have to talk yourself into.
- Comfortable initiating friendly conversations with people you haven't met, with the ability to put strangers at ease on camera.
- A creative, out-of-the-box thinker who brings fresh concepts rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Good-humored and adaptable on camera, with a willingness to embrace playful, lighthearted, or unscripted content.
- Hands-on experience creating and editing short-form video content (e.g., Reels, TikTok, Shorts).
- Working understanding of social media and marketing fundamentals — audience, engagement, brand voice, and platform nuance.
- A strong sense for what makes content resonate, informed by genuine familiarity with current platforms and trends.
- Comfortable using AI tools to speed up ideation, editing, and content workflows.
- Proactive, adaptable, and energized by fast-paced, trend-driven content work.
Embodies SharkNinja's Success Drivers:
- Rarely Satisfied — Bring fresh ideas and continuously raise the bar on the content you create.
- Progress over Perfection — Move quickly, iterate often, and capitalize on trends while they're relevant.
- Details Make the Difference — Produce engaging, high-quality content that reflects the Shark and Ninja brands.
- Winning is a Team Sport — Collaborate with the social team to bring creative concepts to life.
- Communicate for Impact — Connect authentically on camera and communicate ideas clearly through compelling storytelling.
Impact: This internship puts you at the center of our social presence — as the talent audiences recognize and the creator shaping what they see across three social channels and two iconic brands.
