Role Overview / Summary:

This role leads the site’s Quality (Product Safety & Compliance) function and serves as the functional management representative, ensuring compliance with all regulatory approvals (aviation and non-aviation). The position provides advice and guides to achieve quality objectives on time, within budget, and in alignment with approved plans.

The role is accountable for ensuring product safety and process compliance across the site  operations, both internally and externally as applicable, delivering safe, reliable, and fully compliant outputs. It also acts as a trusted advisor to site and business leadership on all Quality, product safety and regulatory / industry compliance  matters, overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), including processes, procedures, requirements, contracts, and performance metrics, to ensure ongoing organizational compliance.

The role will be based on-site with the Collins team in the Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone, UAE. Please note that recruitment for this position remains subject to final hiring approval. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the site’s Quality function, including policy, standards, compliance oversight, and resource management.
  • Serve as the functional management representative for all aviation and non-aviation regulatory approvals.
  • Act as the site representative for the Quality &/ Safety Management System with authority to establish, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the system in  a manner supporting a ‘Just culture’ environment, and report on its performance to leadership.
  • Provide strategic/ supportive Quality leadership to the site, ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Ensure product and process compliance across aerospace operations (OEM and Aftermarket), delivering safe, reliable, and fully compliant outputs.
  • Achieve quality objectives on time and within budget, aligned with approved operational and strategic plans.
  • Champion the Voice of the Customer (VOC), ensuring customer requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle, from development through in-service support.
  • Develop and maintain robust processes and controls that ensure consistent product and service quality.
  • Lead and develop the Quality team, managing daily operations, ensuring competency, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Conduct audit programs to ensure products and processes comply with applicable regulatory and customer standards and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Prepare, maintain, and evaluate QMS documentation, processes, and training to ensure ongoing effectiveness and compliance across sites and programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and prevention of product/process escapes.
  • Analyze quality data and production processes to identify trends, mitigate risk, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of corporate Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., CORE) to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall quality performance.

Min Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of managerial experience in a medium-sized operational facility, preferably in aviation maintenance, repair, or service.
  • Proven experience managing technical operations, with a strong understanding of facility production processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Safety Management Systems, measurement, analysis, and continuous improvement (CI) tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean methodologies and CI events (e.g., root cause analysis, value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen) within regulated manufacturing or aerospace environments, with measurable results in quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Experience conducting and leading audits in a regulated aerospace environment, with formal auditor training and knowledge of OEM and Aftermarket regulatory requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in enterprise systems and IT tools, including Microsoft Office, JDE, SAP, and OneStream/HFM, with advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills, including motivating and supporting cross-functional teams, supervising staff, and achieving organizational goals under pressure.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Action-oriented, results-driven, adaptable, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience operating in global environments with exposure to diverse cultures and working styles.
  • Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
