Quality Process Technician

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Quality Process Technician. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:45pm. The rate for this position is $23.92 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

The Quality Process Technician will support quality assurance and continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing environment. This role assists with the analysis and solution of quality problems through quality investigations, disposition of non-conforming material, inspections, audits, process monitoring, and preparation of inspection plans and instructions to ensure products meet internal and customer requirements. This position may also be responsible for the training of inspectors under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors (if applicable). The Quality Process Technician works closely with quality engineers, production teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive quality and compliance initiatives.

In this function you will:

  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of products and nonconforming materials to determine appropriate disposition and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Evaluate and disposition nonconforming materials, perform failure analysis, and review manufacturing documentation, drawings, and job records to support fact-based decision making and root cause investigations.
  • Conduct product, process, and quality system audits to ensure compliance with internal procedures and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Support quality documentation activities, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow documentation, PPAPs, and Management of Change processes.
  • Develop and maintain SPC charts, monitor quality metrics and dashboards, analyze trends using quality and statistical tools, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment, including support of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to support new line releases, quality approvals, investigations, process improvements, and achievement of plant quality objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in an engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of quality or engineering technician experience

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting ISO 9001-compliant manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with ERP, quality management, or manufacturing systems such as AS400, Powerlink, APIS IQ, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills:

Position Criteria:

  • Intermediate understanding and ability to apply problem-solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Ability to perform product, process, and system audits using process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Working knowledge of SPC, MSA, capability studies, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Experience using gauging, measurement, and inspection equipment to perform dimensional analysis.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and identify trends using statistical tools and reporting methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience working with quality assurance activities, including error proofing, supplier quality, auditing, and continuous improvement activities
