Job Description Summary

As Senior System Engineer, you will lead the development of new signal and image processing technologies, define system architectures, and contribute to the design of next-generation products and features. Working at the intersection of medical imaging, AI, and software engineering, you will research, prototype, and evaluate innovative solutions that enhance clinical outcomes and patient care. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, clinical, and commercial functions to bring new technologies from concept to implementation. In a collaborative and knowledge-driven environment, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence future innovations, and continuously develop your expertise. For this role, you will need to be eligible to work in Denmark and located close enough to regularly work from our office and manufacturing site in Herlev, near Copenhagen.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the innovation, development, and implementation of advanced signal and image processing algorithms for ultrasound imaging and surgical navigation solutions.
  • Architect and define new product features and system-level capabilities, translating emerging technologies into clinical applications.
  • Research, design, and integrate next-generation ultrasound systems, imaging technologies, and transducer solutions.
  • Collaborate with clinical, marketing, and engineering teams to understand user needs and convert them into technical requirements and imaging system specifications.
  • Drive feasibility studies, proof-of-concept activities, and prototype development to evaluate new technologies and imaging approaches.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of end-to-end imaging pipelines, from data acquisition through processing and visualization.
  • Support the evaluation and validation of new technologies through pre-clinical and clinical imaging studies.
  • Stay at the forefront of developments in medical imaging, AI, software, and hardware technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.


Basic Requirements & Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Acoustics, Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of signal processing and image processing principles and applications.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for algorithm development, prototyping, and system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions within multidisciplinary environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, clinical, and commercial teams.
  • A curious, self-driven mindset with a passion for innovation, continuous learning, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging, ultrasound technologies, and/or radiology is preferred.
  • Experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and/or GPU programming is an advantage.
