Summary
The Environmental Services Aide economically and efficiently provides both an aesthetically pleasing environment and an aseptic facility that is conducive to the recovery of health.Job Description
Responsibilities include understanding and following established policies/procedures and departmental objectives regarding quality assurance, safety, and infection control. Communicates effectively and professionally with all customers'. Empties trash from all assigned areas, safely transports to compactor, and compacts as needed. Dust and disinfects on a daily basis including all furniture, hard surfaces, glass, and non-critical patient care equipment with appropriate cleaning solution. Non-critical equipment includes but is not limited to: IV poles, commodes, SCD pumps, IVACs, etc. Maintains all floor surfaces via sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and floor machine operation as assigned. Maintains par levels for supplies and linen in all areas and orders or reports deficiencies as appropriate. Receives linen from providers, stock linen room, and delivers laundry to all departments in accordance with pre-determined par levels. Makes beds and replenishes laundry and supplies to patient are areas and ES carts daily. May travel to offsite clinics or perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.Qualifications
Six months’ experience in environmental services role preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, patients, and visitors. Exert oneself physically for extended periods of time. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and torso (such as bending, stretching, reaching, twisting, climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and walking). Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others. Work independently and perform duties while wearing PPE in contagious areas.
