Shipping Technician (Conversion Temp to Perm)

Job Summary:

This individual is responsible for supporting the Close Out and Shipping department by following all applicable work instructions and processes. The role is responsible for the moving of equipment between manufacturing sites and shipping of equipment to site or to a customer. They will make sure that all equipment meets close out requirements, labeling requirements and is ready to ship to the end user as outlined in the close out
work instructions. Persons filling this role must have a high level of detail to ensure that all equipment ships with the expected quality and compliance to engineering standards and design.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills)

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. A combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Forklift experience
  • Respectful communication skills to support pleasant interactions with a multi-layered workforce.
  • Motivated and organized team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and store, equipment, and other incoming items, notify receptions on time to Inventory team.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks in a safe and timely manner.
  • Follow procedures for orderly and organized material storage with the possible need to use certain equipment such as a forklift or hand truck.
  • Documents and processes the equipment shipments.
  • Comply with all procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods.
  • Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
  • Ability to learn and operate overhead crane under guidance.
  • Able to operate various types of lifts. (Stand up, Walkie Ryder, sit down and pallet jacks)
  • Basic understanding of Shipping procedures
  • Individual must be able to operate hand tools (Drill, Impact Driver, rivet and nail gun).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, walk, pull, bend and lift.
  • Exposure to weather, noise intensity level, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts.
