Payroll Consultant - Caribbean

What is the opportunity?
The Payroll Consultant provides specialized payroll operations support across RBC Caribbean regions. Working closely with the Manager Payroll, the incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution while maintaining compliance with Caribbean legislation and RBC policies across multiple jurisdictions.
What will you do?
- Execute payroll processing activities and coordinate the timely release of salary payments via HR/Payroll systems in accordance with defined SLAs across Caribbean regions
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of payments to Tax, State Insurance Authorities, and other State agencies/boards
- Perform multi-country payroll reconciliation, including internal suspense accounts and General Ledger Salary accounts within appropriate timelines
- Prepare posting sheets for payroll reconciliation and General Ledger cost allocation across countries, companies, units/departments
- Manage billing and reconciliation of expatriate staff expenses and payroll
- Complete specialized payroll calculations (e.g., IA STD, vacation indemnity, commission advances, final pay simulations)
- Maintain payroll operations and adhere to all controls by following policies and procedures; report all incidents or breaks
- Triage and manage incoming payroll requests via ServiceNow Workflow tool, ensuring proper case distribution and assignment
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 8–10 years of payroll operations experience
- 5+ years of multi-country or Caribbean payroll processing experience
- Degree in HR Management, Payroll Administration, or Business Administration
- In-depth knowledge of Caribbean-wide tax laws, regulations, and State Insurance requirements
- Working knowledge of international tax treaties and expatriate payroll considerations
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Nice to have
- Accounting or payroll certification (e.g., CPP, APA)
- Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, and SAP
- Experience with expatriate payroll and international compensation
- Coaching or mentoring experience
