Job Type: Full Time, non-exempt Location: Tinley Park, IL 100% onsite
Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for assembly and testing of components that are used in the manufacturing of fiber optic gyroscopes in Tinley Park, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare components to specific fiber lengths by measuring and using mechanical fiber stripper and cleaver.
- Splice fiberoptic fiber.
- Pack delicate components inside a gyro housing.
- Use electronic power supplies and benchtop meters and measuring equipment.
- Measure basic splice characteristics and log data into a PC system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Years of Experience: 0 to 1 year of relevant or similar experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to be at a workstation for extended periods of time, during each scheduled shift (7 AM to 3:30 PM).
- Practice safe operating procedures.
- Keep work area clean and report all safety hazards.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Salary:
This position offers an hourly range of $17 - $18, depending on the candidate's experience, skill set, and overall qualifications.
