The Reliability Engineering Maintenance Planner is responsible for asset performance management and spares management, preventative/condition based maintenance planning. They are the site SME for the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
As the RME Planner, you will develop maintenance plans and schedules using recurring preventive maintenance activities, predictive maintenance data, and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Your work will include screening APM (Asset Performance Management) work orders, auditing equipment to document work requirements and quality, and estimating labor hours, materials, tools, and equipment for all assigned work orders to support a proactive, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) program. You will collaborate directly with maintenance management, service technicians, and vendors to plan, coordinate, and schedule proactive maintenance activities during available downtime windows. You will also ensure that spare parts are ordered and maintained in stock for both planned and emergency repairs.
Key job responsibilities
- Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software, train the local engineering team in its use and escalate issues as required to the AMET team.
- Ensure the system is run in line within amazon standards and participate in regional projects and improvement programs to roll out new functionality, procedures, scheduling or reports.
- Ensure site level equipment, spare parts and minimum holding levels are correctly recorded in the system in order to ensure technicians have all parts they need.
- Compile equipment information, performance metrics and machine histories and make recommendations for improvements based on their findings.
- Manage spare parts stock levels, place and track orders as required. Work with procurement and the wider network to find savings or efficiencies.
- Responsible for screening work orders, identification of scope, analysis of required level of planning and overall scheduling of maintenance activities given available resources, criticality of work, and available maintenance windows
- Perform equipment PM quality audits to identify and document areas of improvement
- Identify specific safety hazards associated with planned maintenance activities
- Estimate required work hours associated with work order tasks and total work duration
- Plan parts and materials for reliability improvement projects in order to maximize technician wrench time, improve efficiency, increase system reliability and performance
- Ensure all work orders and maintenance activities are derived through CMMS and accurately closed out in the system in accordance with Amazon’s maintenance virtuous cycle
- Ensure necessary engineering drawings, technical documents and specifications are available
- Analyze equipment downtime data and develop & manage a warranty process that will drive OEM uptime and lower cost
- Drive a proactive maintenance program that ensure 85% of planned work is proactive
- Partner with local Reliability Maintenance and Engineering leadership groups to coordinate maintenance activities in support of driving a World Class Maintenance organization
- Own and regularly respond with subject matter expertise to maintenance/equipment related questions, own access to and distribution of OEM technical bulletin updates, and facilitate strong communication with OEM vendors
- You must be able to move up to 49lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 10 hours, climb ladders safely and without limitation, as well as perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
A day in the life
- Analyze the shift report and the data provided by the technicians. Any WO without good data quality must be reopened if required and flagged to the owners, so they can modify the data accordingly. RMEP should highlight any examples of non-compliance regarding 100% booked labor to drive alignment with company policy
- Discuss activity of the day and resource planning. Including projects, vendors on site, PMs, and other MHE related activities such as overdue work from previous day.
- PM and System Check Inspection: in order to ensure the quality of the PMs and System Checks (SC) is reaching our expectations, a 15 min. survey must be performed 3 times a week. The PM/SC must be from WOs completed in the last 24 hours. If there is evidence of a PM/SC not performed properly, feedback must be given to the team while holding the RMEM/RMEAMs accountable.
- Team Skills Matrix: ensure all local RME members are trained on spare parts and APM management.
About the team
The Site RME team is Managing whole Building engineering and facilities related day to day issues and projects as well, including soft services and Technical services (Base Building and MHE material handling equipment)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or distribution industries experience
- Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or experience working with or evaluating AI systems

Basic qualifications
- 1+ years of working with enterprise asset management software suite experience- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or distribution industries experience
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling and cost reports- Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or experience working with or evaluating AI systems
