Head of Infrastructure
About Aditude:
We're really, really into ad ops tech (really). At Aditude we want to help our publishers maximize revenue and make their lives easier with smarter, faster, more innovative, more customized technology. In 2023, we raised 15 million in Series A funding led by Volition Capital allowing us to add to our team and further our mission of helping publishers do what they do better. With over 1600 sites and apps using our tech, we currently have over 1 trillion ads served to date, and over 1 billion ad impressions daily. With the recent acquisition of Hashtag Labs, we only expect this number to continue to grow exponentially. We are looking for team members who are obsessed with supporting our publishers, who default to action, and who enjoy solving complex problems. If that sounds like you, we are excited to connect!
The Opportunity:
Aditude is a leading innovator in the ad tech industry, dedicated to creating cutting-edge solutions that drive the success of our publishers and partners. Our team is composed of passionate professionals who thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. We are currently seeking a Head of Infrastructure to own infrastructure reliability, cost, DevOps, tooling, and network/system security across the entire company — including CPMStar, our SSP — with deep expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, infrastructure-as-code, cloud cost management, security, logging, full-scale resilience, and CI/CD automation.
The Head of Infrastructure owns end-to-end infrastructure across Aditude's full product portfolio (Prebid Server, AWP, Cloud Wrapper, Insights) and CPMStar, our SSP. This spans five core pillars: reliability (uptime, resilience, incident response), cost (infrastructure spend efficiency), DevOps (CI/CD, deployment automation), tooling (internal developer tooling and platform), and security (network and system security, compliance). This is a working leadership role: you'll set infrastructure strategy and coach a growing team, while staying hands-on with architecture, incident response, and critical builds. This role is largely IC-driven with a clear path to growing and managing the function as the team scales.
We move fast and expect this person to as well — including knowing how to parallelize their own output using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) without becoming dependent on them. You should be able to direct, review, and correct AI-generated infrastructure work with the same rigor you'd apply to a junior engineer's PR.
Some Challenges you’ll tackle:
Reliability
Own uptime, resilience, and incident response strategy across all Aditude products and CPMStar's SSP infrastructure.
Lead resolution of critical, high-severity infrastructure issues company-wide.
Design, deploy, and directly manage scalable, reliable infrastructure across Kubernetes and Docker-based environments — this role remains hands-on with implementation, not just planning.
Cost
Own infrastructure cost management and capacity planning, balancing performance against spend across the company.
Identify and execute cost-optimization initiatives as traffic and infrastructure scale.
DevOps
Establish and evolve CI/CD standards and pipelines across the engineering org, including CPMStar.
Drive deployment automation and release reliability across all product lines.
Champion infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) as the standard for how infrastructure is defined, versioned, and shipped.
Tooling
Own the internal infrastructure/developer tooling roadmap — observability, logging, and platform tooling used by engineering.
Evaluate and introduce new tools to improve engineering velocity and operational visibility, including effective use of AI coding agents in infrastructure workflows.
Security
Own network and system security across company infrastructure, including Zero Trust architecture, access control, and policy enforcement (OPA).
Drive compliance and security posture, including SOC 2 readiness, across Aditude and CPMStar.
Set and enforce security standards for infrastructure, deployments, and third-party integrations.
Leadership
Coach and develop the Senior Cloud Ops Engineer today, with the mandate to hire, structure, and lead a larger infrastructure team as the company scales.
Partner closely with engineering leadership (CTO) and product teams to align infrastructure investment with product and business priorities.
Represent infrastructure in cross-functional planning, including reporting on reliability, cost, and risk when needed.
The Skillset:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of experience in infrastructure/cloud ops, with at least 2+ years in a lead or management capacity — ideally having grown or managed a small infrastructure team.
Deep, hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and Docker — these are the most critical technical skills for this role.
Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, especially Terraform, as the primary way infrastructure is managed.
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), including compute, storage, networking, and orchestration.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Go, Python, or TypeScript.
Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or CloudWatch.
Demonstrated experience owning network and system security — Zero Trust, network segmentation, access control, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2 a plus).
Fluency working alongside AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) to move fast — able to delegate and parallelize infrastructure work to AI tooling while maintaining independent technical judgment and not over-relying on it.
Experience managing infrastructure cost/capacity at scale, ideally across multiple products or business units.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic ownership with hands-on execution in a lean, resource-constrained team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced, scrappy environment.
Strong communication skills, with experience translating infrastructure tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
Experience managing infrastructure outside standard cloud providers (e.g., dedicated/bare-metal environments).
Experience securing or operating infrastructure for an ad tech / programmatic (SSP/DSP) business.
Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Clickhouse, or other data streaming tools at scale.
Knowledge of container security best practices and tools.
Experience standing up or scaling an infrastructure function from a small team.
