  • Provide comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum nursing care, performing ongoing maternal and fetal assessments and implementing evidence-based interventions for both routine and high-risk pregnancies.
  • Monitor and interpret external and internal fetal heart rate tracings, recognize signs of maternal or fetal distress, and respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies, including emergency deliveries and labor complications.
  • Perform specialized Labor & Delivery procedures including cervical assessments, sterile vaginal exams, IV therapy, epidural management, medication administration, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia providers, neonatology, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized care, ensure safe patient handoffs using SBAR, and deliver patient and family education throughout the birth experience.
  • Maintain the highest standards of patient safety through accurate documentation, infection prevention, informed consent verification, advocacy, regulatory compliance, and newborn security practices.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Six (6) month current medical /surgical nursing maternal-child nursing or speciality area experience 
  • Registered Nurse: CA RN, upon hire 
  • Basic Life Support - BLS, upon hire 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, upon hire 
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program - NRP upon hire

Preferred

  • Spanish speaking experience
