Skip to main contentEnglishEnglishBack to all jobsRobotics Field Application Engineer (m/f/d)Germany, Munich (HQ)Full-timePermanent employeeApply for this jobAbout the roleThe Robotics Field Application Engineer (m/f/d) is a customer-facing, hands-on technical expert responsible for deploying, integrating, debugging, and supporting robotic systems across internal lab environments and customer sites. This role serves as a critical link between customers, Sales, and R&D, with strong ownership of system behavior, known bugs, and real-world failure modes. You are expected to understand, diagnose, and where possible, fix common robot issues encountered during lab operations, and to apply this knowledge to ensure smooth and reliable customer deployments.Your ResponsibilitiesDeploy, commission, and validate robotic systems at customer sitesProvide on-site and remote technical support during integration, testing, and production ramp-upTroubleshoot complex hardware, software, and system-level issues under real-world constraintsTrain customer engineers and operators on system usage, safety, and maintenanceMaintain deep familiarity with known robot bugs, limitations, and failure modes observed during lab operationsPerform root-cause analysis and attempt fixes or mitigations for software and system-level issues where feasibleApply knowledge of known issues and workarounds to minimize downtime during customer deploymentsCommunicate risks, limitations, and unresolved issues clearly to internal teamsProvide structured feedback from customer deployments to R&D team to improve quality and scalabilityCreate and maintain application notes, deployment guides, and troubleshooting documentationDocument known issues, root causes, and mitigation strategiesBeneficial SkillsExperience in customer-facing or field engineering rolesKnowledge of modern AI models in robotics, including vision-language-action (VLA) modelsKnowledge of industrial communication protocols and robot safety standardsStrong technical communication and presentation skillsYour ProfileProficiency in Python, C++, ROS/ROS2, and Linux-based development workflows.Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field1+ years of hands-on experience with robotic systems in lab and field environmentsExperience troubleshooting hardware, software, and integrated robotic systemsWillingness to travel to customer sites (typically 30–50%)What we offerA dynamic high-tech company combined with financial soundness and world-class investors.Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment.Lots of development opportunities in the context of our continued growth.Challenging tasks and impactful projects alongside experts that enable professional and personal growth.Corporate Benefits Program that covers health, mobility, and learning with 100€ net per month.Modern office facilities with a rooftop terrace overlooking Munich, free drinks & fruits, and regular company events contribute to a good working environment.About usAgile Robots SE is an international high-tech company based in Munich, Germany with a production site in Kaufbeuren and more than 2300 employees worldwide.
