JOB SUMMARY:

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Manager of Patient Access Registration is responsible for overseeing all patient registration and access functions to ensure accurate demographic and insurance data collection, benefit and eligibility verification and scheduling. This role leads registration staff, develops operational processes, monitors key performance indicators, and collaborates with clinical, financial, and administrative departments to ensure timely and accurate patient access services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and financial clearance activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Patient Access team members to achieve performance, quality, and service excellence goals.
  • Ensure accurate patient demographic, insurance, and eligibility information is obtained and documented.
  • Monitor productivity, registration accuracy, denial trends, and patient satisfaction metrics.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows that improve operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Case Management, Clinical Operations, and Compliance teams to support organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS regulations, EMTALA requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced patient access outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Patient Access, Registration, Revenue Cycle, or Healthcare Operations experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare registration processes, insurance verification, and reimbursement practices.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and patient access systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

This position plays a critical role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting the organization's financial and operational performance.

For location, this will be a HI Client onsite hybrid role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
