Business Manager - Unified Communcations

Macquarie Park, AustraliaFull-timePosted Jul 29, 2026

At Tech Data, we're not just distributing technology, we're shaping the future of workplace communications. Our significant growth in Unified Communications has created exciting opportunities for talented professionals to work with leading global vendors, cutting-edge technologies and some of the most innovative customers in the market. For those looking to accelerate their careers, expand their expertise and make a real impact, we offer a collaborative environment where ambition and growth are encouraged and rewarded

Job Purpose:

In this new role, the successful candidate will take end-to-end ownership of the Unified Communications (UC) portfolio across ANZ. This is a true player-coach role: you'll spend as much time in the field recruiting partners and building pipeline as you will managing vendor relationships and, where a small team is in place, coaching Business Development Managers.

You'll own the commercial performance of the UC business — from partner recruitment and enablement through to vendor scorecards and revenue growth — and act as the connective tissue between our vendor partners, our reseller/MSP community, and internal stakeholders.

This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role suited to someone who has operated inside IT distribution or the UC/collaboration vendor ecosystem (e.g. UCaaS, CCaaS, SBC/telephony or CPaaS) and is comfortable being measured on both the health of vendor relationships and the pipeline they personally generate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and onboard partners — identify, pitch, and sign new reseller, MSP, and UC/CX specialist partners across the ANZ region.

  • Generate and manage pipeline — personally build and progress a pipeline of partner-sourced UC opportunities, working alongside partners' own sales teams to support and close deals.

  • Own vendor relationships — act as the primary point of contact for UC vendor partners, managing joint business plans, rebate/incentive structures, and quarterly business reviews.

  • Negotiate commercial terms — manage net pricing, marketing development funds (MDF), and back-end rebate programs to protect and grow margin.

  • Own the P&L — hold accountability for revenue, margin, and profitability of the UC business unit against an annual plan.

  • Forecast accurately — maintain a rolling pipeline and revenue forecast, reporting variance and risk to leadership.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years' experience in IT distribution, telecom, or UC/collaboration vendor sales, with a track record of hitting revenue and partner-recruitment targets.
  • 3+ years in a role owning a vendor relationship, product line, or business unit — commercial/P&L exposure strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience personally recruiting channel partners and generating pipeline, not just managing others who do.

  • Working knowledge of UC/CX technologies — UCaaS, CCaaS, SBC/telephony, or CPaaS — and how they're sold through the channel.

  • Comfort with vendor commercial mechanics: net pricing, rebates, MDF, and joint business planning.

  • Strong forecasting and CRM discipline, with the ability to report pipeline and revenue performance to leadership.

  • Excellent stakeholder management — equally credible in front of a vendor VP and a partner's sales floor.
