POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Manager II, Accounts Receivable, you will help lead AR/I2C operations across the APAC region, overseeing the collection and management of approximately USD 325 million in monthly receivables. The organization comprises more than 30 associates across shared service centers and local country teams, supporting 11 countries with diverse language and business requirements. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) processes, including credit management, collections, dispute resolution, cash application, and accounts receivable reporting. You will ensure efficient operations, service excellence, and timely issue resolution while supporting both AGS and local country organizations and Heads of Finance. Team size for this role will be ~10-12 associates.


The position plays a critical role in maintaining effective controls, compliance, documentation, reporting frameworks, and system governance. In addition, you will lead and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiency, standardization, automation, and overall service delivery across the AR/I2C function. Working closely with Commercial Leadership, Country Finance Leaders, Customer Operations teams, Global Process Owners, and other key stakeholders, you will develop a deep understanding of APAC commercial programs and their impact on receivables performance, cash flow, and working capital management.


As a key member of the Process Excellence organization, you will contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of Alcon's Accounts Receivable Service Delivery model, driving operational excellence, stakeholder satisfaction, and sustainable business results across the region.
Previous experience managing Financial Services, with close collaboration across AR I2C, Treasury, Finance, Commercial, and OTI functions are preferred. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Deliveries:

  • Lead and manage the AR/I2C team, providing hands-on guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that enable effective business decision-making.

  • Oversee day-to-day AR/I2C operations, including Credit Management, Collections, Dispute Resolution, Cash Application, and AR Reporting, ensuring service continuity, operational excellence, and the achievement of business objectives.

  • Develop, measure, and deliver services in line with agreed service levels, SLAs, and KPI targets.

  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring full alignment with business objectives, compliance requirements, and audit standards.

  • Ensure adherence to all accounting policies, procedures, and internal control requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including business partners, accounting authorities, auditors, and banking institutions.

  • Foster a customer-focused culture that promotes service excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Champion a diverse and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment, while promoting respect, collaboration, and equal opportunities for all associates.

Manage day-to-day activities:

  • Drive the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), including Blocked Orders %, AR Aging %, DSO, dispute turnaround time, and adoption and performance of the Receivable Management and Finance Now tools.

  • Monitor and ensure timely execution of collection activities and customer follow-ups in line with the prescribed collection worklist.

  • Provide ongoing support and expert guidance to associates to resolve complex collection issues and enhance collection effectiveness.

  • Resolve AR/I2C-related accounting issues and disputes, escalating or coordinating with relevant stakeholders and departments as necessary.

  • Manage and support month-end financial reporting activities, including the assessment of provisions and doubtful debt reserves

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Previous experience managing Financial Services, with close collaboration across AR I2C, Treasury, Finance, Commercial, and OTI functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multinational, matrix organization.

  • Leadership experience in a managerial role with direct people management responsibilities (8-12 direct reports).

  • Strong people and stakeholder management skills in a multicultural environment.

  • Proficient in SAP and experienced in leading projects and driving performance improvement initiatives, including ERP implementations.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, influencing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Good Mandarin proficiency, both verbal and written, to support countries requiring Mandarin business communication.
