We're looking for a dedicated HR/Payroll Coordinator who enjoys helping people, values accuracy, and takes pride in creating a positive employee experience. If you're someone who loves solving problems, staying organized, and supporting a team, we'd love to meet you.
This is a full-time, on-site position at our beautiful Santa Cruz facility.
What You'll Do
As our HR/Payroll Coordinator, you'll be a trusted resource for our employees throughout their journey—from onboarding through payroll, benefits, and day-to-day HR support. You'll work closely with leadership to ensure our team members are paid accurately, supported professionally, and treated with care.
Responsibilities
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
Maintain electronic timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Coordinate employee onboarding, orientations, and background checks.
Maintain confidential personnel files in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans.
Track leaves of absence, workers' compensation claims, and employee documentation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
Assist with compliance reporting, audits, and other HR administrative functions.
Help foster a positive, welcoming workplace culture for all employees.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is organized, approachable, dependable, and enjoys supporting others.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of payroll and human resources experience.
Healthcare, skilled nursing, or post-acute experience is preferred.
Experience using payroll software and HRIS systems.
Workday experience is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of California labor laws, payroll practices, and employment regulations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
