  • External Manufacturing & Supplier Management:

    • Oversee the management of external manufacturing partners in APAC to ensure compliance with quality standards, development timeline, delivery schedules and pricing.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all dealings between the company and APAC’s external partners; negotiate and manage Manufacturing Service Agreements (MSA), amendments, and updates.

    • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships with key third-party manufacturers, through SRM governance, business reviews, and performance monitoring.

    • Build SRM governance and drive leadership engagement internally and externally.

    • Know the External Manufacturing market and source, evaluate and propose alternate CMOs.

    • Drive supplier selection, development, and risk mitigation strategies.

    • Resolve technical issues, process improvements and technical transfers.

    • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, driving year-over-year improvements in production efficiency and cost reduction.

    • Drive production and cost YOY improvement.

       

  • Quality Assurance and R&D:

    • Ensure all external manufacturing activities comply with industry regulations and organizational policies.

    • Support quality management reviews, audits, timely investigation of deviations, CAPAs and product disposition.

    • Support NPI products to align with R&D timelines, quality standards, and operational limitations.

  • Performance Monitoring:

    • Monitor manufacturing performance using Operational Excellence (OPEX) metrics as appropriate; provide regular updates to supply chain leadership

    • Ensure timely communication with third-party manufacturers regarding product forecasts, manufacturing, and delivery schedules.

    • Ensure adherence to terms in the Supply Agreement and Quality Agreement.

    • Provide regular updates and reports to the supply chain leadership.

  • Risk Management:

    • Assess and mitigate risks associated with outsourcing production to third-party manufacturers.

    • Ensure the external manufacturing partners have the required systems and documentation to meet our requirements.

    • Conduct Market and Supplier Analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and trends; evaluate Make Vs Buy scenarios and present recommendations to the approval committee.

    • Travel up to 30%, both domestically and internationally.

Travel: 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proven experience managing CMOs/CDMOs
  • Deep knowledge of category management and procurement principles.
  • Ability to develop high impact procurement strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry and regulatory environment.
  • Proven track record of new product development support.
  • Strong negotiation, project management, and supplier relationship skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with a high degree of autonomy 
  • Experience with global manufacturing and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with international regulatory requirements and market trends

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience in manufacturing industries.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing direct categories

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience with OEM/CMO/CDMO preferred
