## Join our Team
About this opportunity:
Product Engineering Unit RU Software has exciting role in putting software on the hardware map. We are a distributed team, dedicated to lead SW development for the Radio portfolio with clear interfaces towards Integrated RAN and Cloud RAN. We are part of organization built on key competences, innovation and collaboration for business and technology leadership. Product Engineering Unit RU Software’s role is to bridge Radio, ASIC and RAN development, evolving the RU SW architecture closely with DU SW architecture while supporting MS-RBS and Cloud-RAN needs.
As a System Engineer - Radio Security, you will be part of the Radio System Security community, driving the end‑to‑end systemization of Radio security features. You translate security requirements into robust system solutions. You will belong to a team of system engineers and technical coordinators involved in providing technical guidance and systemizing Radio software functionality through Product development and feature development programs, with support from globally located system teams, across EUs, and Radio programs. You will collaborate closely with system architects, design teams (HW, SW, ASIC), verification, manufacturing, and product security governance to ensure that our radio products meet Ericsson and industry security requirements while remaining competitive in performance, cost, and time‑to‑market.
What you will do:
* Driving Radio security studies to develop robust security features for customers
* Lead technical investigations on security topics, propose mitigations, and drive decisions with impacted design teams
* Systemizing security functionality for radio software, in alignment with the System Area charters for Radio and Security through participation in system studies to cover security aspects
* Analyze and break down security requirements into implementable system requirements and design constraints for radio units and RAN components
* Supporting Architects, OPOs, drivers and development teams with expert guidance in secure implementation
* Driving continuous improvement in product security in-line with latest development in security area
* Participate in relevant forums and communities (System Area groups, Security Chapters, seminars) and share learnings, best practices, and guidance across the Radio organization
The skills you bring:
* Solid background in radio/RAN systems, embedded systems, or telecom HW/SW, with experience from at least one of: radio HW, radio SW, RAN compute
* Strong understanding of security fundamentals, including Cryptographic primitives (hashing, symmetric / asymmetric crypto, digital signatures) and secure boot and trusted execution concepts
* Experience in system engineering / systemization:
* Requirements analysis and decomposition
* Defining system behaviors, interfaces, and constraints
* Writing clear, structured technical documentation
* Ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions across multi‑disciplinary teams (HW, SW, ASIC, manufacturing, security governance)
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a structured way of working and good attention to detail
* Understanding of agile way of working, CI/CD setup for product development
* Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written
## Nice to have:
* Experience with 5G RAN and Ericsson Radio System products (radios, AAS, RAN compute, transport, or Cloud RAN). Hands‑on experience with Secure boot / secure storage / secure debug implementations
* Familiarity with BNEW security frameworks, Baseline Security Requirements (BSR), and Radio Security Requirements in DOORS NG
* Experience collaborating with Security Masters, Security Champions, or Product Security organizations
Personal traits:
* Curious, self‑driven, and eager to learn in the evolving radio security domain
* Comfortable working in a distributed, cross‑functional...
