What You Can Expect

This position is responsible for the design, plan preparation, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for building construction, expansion projects, rearrangements, maintenance, facilities installation and floor layouts used in plant construction and/ or manufacturing shop floor.
Responsible for ensuring compliance to local regulations, timely completion of tasks, and satisfactory sub-contractor performance in accordance with company objectives. 

How You'll Create Impact

  • Works with Manufacturing/ Process Engineering, manufacturing floor personnel and business management to ensure work is being scheduled & arranged in accordance with business needs and production requirements. 
  • Outlines projects and prepares drawings as required. Supervises and inspects work in progress to determine that work meets specifications. 
  • Interact with vendors to procure equipment material etc. for new and current projects/ processes. 
  • Concentrates on streamlining operations and efficienies while maintaining compliance and product and process integrity. 
  • Responsible for maintaining mechanical, water, environmental and electrical control systems. 
  • Establishes and maintains a preventative maintenance program for the physical plant, tools and equipment for which this position has responsibility. 
  • Acts as liaison with local regulators, as it relates fire, security, wastewater treatment, utilities and occupational safety.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Knowledgeable of Plant Engineering systems and devices (e.g. electrical distribution, compressed air, purified water, HVAC, PLC); the preferred candidate will also have performed design, construction, installation, and performance verification on plant engineering devices and systems. 
  • Knowledgeable of preventive and predictive (condition monitoring) maintenance methods and processes; prior experience on preventive maintenance activities related to industrial machinery and systems. 
  • Some knowledge of validated processes in regards to manufacturing equipment, the preferred candidate will actually have performed the validation of industrial machines. 
  • Knowledgeable of computerized maintenance management systems; the preferred candidate will have has use of SAP Plant Maintenance module including set up of assets. 
  • Ability to successfully communicate with all levels of company hierarchy, utilizing a variety of methods (e.g. presentations, graphs, spreadsheets, email, and verbal) 
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills. 
  • Must possess strong multi-tasking and time management skills. 
  • Must also possess problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a budget. 
  • Knowledge of various computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint. 

Your Background

  • From an accredited institute of higher learning, a bachelor degree or higher, in a technical field such as mechanical or electrical engineering, that relates to the indicated activities. 
  • At least 1 year of experience in an industrial situation imrpoving plant activities. The preferred candidate will have direct knowledge of Plant Engineering Systems.
