Enterprise Account Executive-Southeast
Job Description:
Location: Remote-Must reside within the Southeast U.S. (preferably Atlanta, GA)
Travel: Approximately 25-50%
JOB SUMMARY:
The Enterprise Account Executive is responsible for driving enterprise revenue growth through the sale of Vertex tax technology solutions to both new and existing clients across the Southeast United States.
This role is ideal for a seasoned enterprise SaaS seller with a proven track record of exceeding quota with a modern, AI-driven mindset. You are a true hunter who creates opportunities, navigates complex organizations, and consistently wins new business.
You will engage senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, and IT, positioning Vertex as a strategic partner for transformation, compliance, and operational efficiency. Success in this role requires curiosity, resilience, and a results-oriented mindset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and closing enterprise accounts within the assigned territory.
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles including executive presentations, negotiations, and contract closure.
- Partner with prospects and customers to build compelling business cases and ROI for tax technology investments.
- Consistently achieve or exceed annual revenue targets (>$3M quota).
- Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned with company growth objectives.
- Work closely with marketing, SDRs, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.
- Clearly articulate and demonstrate the enterprise value of Vertex solutions to Finance, Tax, and IT leaders.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM tools (MEDDPICC proficiency preferred).
- Build and leverage relationships with alliance partners, system integrators, and internal stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience with a history of exceeding multi-million-dollar revenue quotas.
- Proven success selling complex enterprise software solutions into Finance, Tax, Compliance, ERP, or related business environments.
- Demonstrated ability to generate net-new business opportunities and close large, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
- Strong knowledge of ERP, POS, eCommerce, and related enterprise technology ecosystems.
- Experience leading executive-level presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Expertise in territory planning, pipeline development, revenue forecasting, and CRM management.
- Familiarity with structured sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC or similar frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presence skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 25–50% within the assigned territory.
- Must reside in the Southeast US (preferably Atlanta, GA)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience selling tax automation, indirect tax, compliance, financial software, or related enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong understanding of finance transformation, tax operations, regulatory compliance, and business process optimization.
- Experience collaborating with system integrators, strategic alliance partners, and channel organizations.
- Demonstrated success building ROI-driven business cases that influence executive decision-makers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, AI-driven technology environment and adapt to evolving market trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience accepted in place of a formal degree.

Pay Transparency Statement:
US Base Salary Range: $119,300.00 - $155,000.00Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.
In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
