PURPOSE:
As a primary contact for customers, the Dairy Supervisor provides friendly, courteous, and helpful
service. The Dairy Supervisor places individual items on shelves in specific location and faces
merchandise. Opens cases of merchandise using a company approved box cutter. Faces items to be
consistent with Division standards. Dusts and washes shelves as needed. Checks temperature in cold
cases, and coolers as needed. Maintain all aisles with a clear walkway. Bales cardboard and cleans floor.
May occasional function as cashier/checker. May complete orders or maintain inventory with handheld
ordering device.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Dairy department, including
supervising and training personnel. Maintains the quality condition of all dairy grocery products,
stocks, rotates and faces products, discards out of code and spoiled products and maintains
backroom. Cleans and maintains shelves.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.

• Encourages and maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis
on safe, friendly, and courteous service. Engages in suggestive selling and other sales
techniques.
• Assists the Grocery Manager in planning, organizing regular and seasonal merchandise
requirements and special sales needs.
• Rotates and faces product; processes and discards outdated and spoiled products. Cleans and
dusts shelves
• Orders dairy merchandise
• Trains, teaches and coaches dairy stocking and conditioning standards
• Assists with the “dry grocery” order writing
• Assists with grocery stocking and conditioning
• Works on new items
• Assists with the reclamation process
• Manages backroom inventory, conditions and standards
• Assists with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Successful completion of all company training courses.
• Ability to interact professionally with customers, co-workers, and supervisor.
• Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to use the cash register and self-check-out registers as required.
• Basic math skills to calculate prices and make change.
• Ability to handle all forms of tender.
• Knowledge of products, product pricing and store layout.
• Ability to memorize procedures and look up PLU codes.
• Ability to make quality decisions and work independently when necessary.
• Ability to multitask while working under stress and time constraints.
• Ability to complete tasks assigned in expected time frame.
• Must be 18 years old and be able to operate bailer and electrical equipment.
• Reports to work in proper uniform per company policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The following attempts to communicate the traditional physical demands associated with this

Seldom: 1-2 hours, Occasional: 3-4 hours, Frequent: 5-6 hours, Continuous: 7+ hours (Based on an 8-
hour workday.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working conditions consist of a temperature-controlled store environment. Occasional exposure to
outdoor environment with varying temperatures
Frequent exposure to temperature of 35˚ Fahrenheit while handling product in a cold case, 28˚ Fahrenheit
in a cooler and -20˚ Fahrenheit in a freezer.
