MTSI is seeking an experienced Software Developer to support the U.S. Navy’s Advanced Threat Engineering Program (ATEP) with advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts for multi-domain sensors and weapon systems. This position plays a critical role in the development of high‑fidelity, C++‑based simulation environments used to evaluate aircraft, missile, and sensor performance in support of Navy mission objectives. As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, the developer will contribute to the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of complex software architectures that enable next‑generation test capabilities across the fleet.  Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize C++ modeling and simulation software for multi‑domain, high-threat combat environments. Implement object‑oriented architectures that accurately represent aircraft, missile, and sensor system behavior. Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and technical leads to define technical roadmaps, development milestones, and long‑term product strategies. Participate actively in Agile development workflows, including sprint planning, peer reviews, and iterative release cycles. Apply DevSecOps principles to ensure secure, maintainable, and scalable development and deployment practices. Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, design artifacts, test plans, and user manuals. Support verification and validation activities to ensure model accuracy and performance fidelity. Integrate simulation components into larger system‑of‑systems environments and perform troubleshooting and performance tuning as needed. Required Qualifications: Active Secret clearance required at the time of hire. U.S. Citizenship required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field. 7+ years of experience developing multi-domain DoD modeling and simulation software. Demonstrated experience developing high‑fidelity models for aircraft, missile, and sensor systems. Strong proficiency in object-oriented principles. Advanced hands‑on experience building, debugging, and testing C++ applications in a high‑performance environment. Willingness to collaborate with project managers and technical leads to build roadmaps for product development. Desire and ability to function in an Agile team environment. Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies and secure software development best practices. Ability to develop and maintain detailed product documentation. Desired Qualifications: Top Secret clearance preferred Prior experience developing weapon system models, including kinetic and non‑kinetic engagements. Familiarity with sensor technologies such as EO/IR imaging systems and radar. Intermediate proficiency with Python and MATLAB for data analysis, prototyping, or model validation. Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering). The pay range for this position is $120,000 year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
