The Estée Lauder Companies is seeking a visionary Vice President, Global Brand Communications to lead strategic communications for its Lifestyle Fragrance portfolio, Jo Malone London, KILIAN PARIS, and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. This collection of brands represents the pinnacle of modern perfumery, combining craft, culture, and luxury lifestyle into compelling global narratives that drive earned media impact, cultural relevance, and enhance brand desirability and visibility globally.

Reporting into the SVP, Global Brand Communications (based in New York), the VP will lead global brand storytelling, press strategy, cultural relevance, and founder and perfumer positioning. They will also play a pivotal role in supporting major brand milestones, including serving as the communications lead for the Fragrance Atelier in Paris, a flagship enterprise platform and strategic growth catalyst for the company's fragrance category, shaping its global communications vision, media strategy, and cultural influence. The role also carries accountability for portfolio-level communications prioritization, ensuring resources, storytelling opportunities, and earned media investments are aligned to the highest-impact business and brand objectives across the Lifestyle Fragrance portfolio.

This role blends high-touch execution with bold, strategic and creative thinking, ensuring each brand retains its distinct identity while collectively shaping the future of lifestyle fragrance through impactful brand communications, proactive media engagement, and culturally resonant moments that place the brands at the center of consumer conversation. The VP will partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Consumer Engagement, and Regional teams to amplify brand narratives, generate meaningful earned media coverage, and strengthen brand equity across global markets.

This role can be based in our regional offices in Paris or London.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Brand Communication Leadership – Lifestyle Fragrance Portfolio

  • Serve as the senior global communications lead for Jo Malone London, KILIAN PARIS, and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, overseeing the development and implementation of strategic, long-term brand storytelling across all channels and markets.
  • Translate brand heritage and olfactive artistry into emotionally resonant narratives that position each brand at the forefront of the global fragrance and luxury lifestyle space, driving earned media coverage, cultural relevance, and consumer conversation.
  • Serve as the communications leader for the flagship Fragrance Atelier in Paris, developing and executing its global communications strategy, elevating its role as a category-defining platform for fragrance craftsmanship, innovation, education, and cultural storytelling while driving international media, influencer, and industry engagement.
  • Establish and drive portfolio-level communications priorities across the Lifestyle Fragrance brands, determining strategic focus, resource allocation, and sequencing of major communications initiatives to maximize enterprise impact, brand equity, and earned media results.
  • Ensure all brand communications align with corporate strategy, while amplifying each brand and fragrance house’s unique vision.
  • In collaboration with the SVP, define and drive ELC’s wider enterprise narrative around the fragrance category.
  • Own the global press strategy and communications roadmap for all product launches, cultural activations, brand partnerships, and major brand moments, generating earned media impact and cultural buzz across markets.
  • Build founder and perfumer visibility through executive media placements, speaking engagements, and immersive storytelling.
  • Drive awareness and storytelling for high-impact projects, such as limited-edition collaborations, global fragrance campaigns, and the Atelier.
  • Lead communications strategies that maximize the impact of earned media across both traditional and emerging channels, ensuring brands remain highly visible, culturally relevant, and influential in shaping consumer conversation.

Talent, Media & Influencer Strategy

  • Cultivate top-tier media relationships across luxury, fashion, lifestyle, and beauty (e.g., Vogue, Le Monde, WWD, Wallpaper, Business of Fashion, WSJ Magazine), leveraging those relationships to generate high-impact coverage, thought leadership opportunities, and sustained brand visibility.
  • Shape global influencer strategies in collaboration with regional Consumer Engagement teams, ensuring brand partners are aligned with each house’s aesthetic and storytelling style.
  • Oversee global events, talent collaborations, and media opportunities tied to major brand moments, including the Paris Atelier.

  • Lead and inspire a global communications team across brands, fostering a culture of creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, collaboration, and high performance while developing future communications talent.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Communications, Creative, Marketing, Product Development, Consumer Engagement, and Regional teams to ensure cohesive, culturally relevant, consumer-facing communications that maximize earned media opportunities and brand impact.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Communications leadership and UK-based communications counterparts on issues management, executive communications, and reputational matters as needed, while maintaining primary responsibility for advancing brand communications strategies, earned media impact, and cultural relevance across the portfolio.
  • Manage external PR agencies and communications budgets, while tracking performance KPIs to optimize brand impact and ROI.

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum 14+ years in luxury beauty, fragrance, fashion, or lifestyle brand communications.
  • Proven experience leading global communications for high-profile, prestige brands, ideally within fragrance or luxury consumer goods.
  • Deep understanding of fragrance storytelling, cultural programming, and high-touch luxury communications.
  • Expertise in managing global brand milestones, including store openings, events, and high-impact media campaigns.
  • Strong global media relationships and experience with founder-led storytelling.
  • Sophisticated leadership presence and ability to influence senior executives, brand stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing proactive brand PR strategies that generate significant earned media coverage, cultural relevance, and consumer engagement on a global scale.
  • Proven ability to build strong external relationships with media, cultural influencers, talent partners, and industry stakeholders.
