Volunteer for a startup providing fair pay & stable employment to African artisans 💍

Oriaku Studio

We create premium Afro-Scandi jewelry with African artisans, providing fair pay and stable employment.

We work to address the lack of fair economic opportunities for artisans across Africa. Many skilled makers face low wages, unstable work, and limited access to global markets. We focus on creating stable jobs with fair pay, supporting gender equality in artisan communities, and raising the global perception of African craft. My goal is to ensure that traditional skills are valued, respected, and seen as part of the modern luxury conversation, while helping artisans build sustainable and dignified livelihoods.

We offer a premium jewelry line made in direct collaboration with African artisans. The business provides consistent orders, fair pay, and long-term partnerships to support stable employment. We develop modern Afro-Scandi designs that showcase traditional techniques, helping elevate the image of African craft in global markets. Through ethical sourcing, transparent production, and gender-inclusive artisan teams, the business delivers high-quality products while creating real economic opportunities for the makers behind them.

Role (Volunteer, unpaid): Meta Ads Performance Volunteer

Role Description: About Oriaku Studio

Oriaku is a slow luxury jewelry brand bridging African heritage with Scandinavian design. Our pieces are handcrafted in small batches by artisan partners across Africa, with 20% of profits shared directly with them. We're stocked at Wolf & Badger, featured in Marie Claire France, and sell direct via Shopify.

The mission

Most brands scale ads by spending more. We're doing the opposite: our 2026 goal is to hit 4X ROAS by Q4 while reducing ad spend every quarter (Q2 → 2X, Q3 → 3X, Q4 → 4X). Efficiency has to improve faster than the budget shrinks. Every krone we save on ads goes back into artisan partnerships, inventory, and photography — so this role has a direct line to the mission.

What you'll do

  • Monitor our Meta Ads account in detail, weekly: CPA, CTR, conversion rate, AOV, spend concentration
  • Enforce our consolidation discipline — spend concentrated behind proven winning creatives, underperformers killed within 3–5 days, no new ad set without retiring one
  • Test new creatives on small budgets and only scale what beats the control
  • Watch geo performance closely: cut markets that don't return, double down where they do
  • Flag early-warning signals (e.g. rising CPA with flat CTR = creative fatigue) before they hurt the monthly numbers
  • Help document our performance marketing playbook as you go

What you'll get

  • Full visibility into a real DTC ad account with a clear, measurable target — a genuine portfolio piece ("took a brand from 1X to 4X ROAS while cutting spend" is a rare CV line)
  • Direct collaboration with the founder (ex-tech leader, 10 years managing international teams)
  • Your analysis directly shaping budget decisions — this isn't busywork, it's the steering wheel
  • A mission-driven brand where every efficiency gain funds fair pay for African artisans

You're a fit if

You know Meta Ads Manager well (campaign structure, ad sets, attribution, A/B testing), you love spreadsheets and metrics more than big budgets, and you have the discipline to kill an ad that isn't working. Experience with small DTC budgets is a big plus — this role is about frugality, not scale.

Time Commitment: Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6+ months remotely.
