ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a FRM Sales & Trading Associate I, you will act as a senior contributor within the Foreign Exchange (FX), Commodities, and Interest Rate Derivatives businesses. You will support client engagements, structure complex transactions, and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance profitability and client experience. This role requires deep market expertise, advanced technical skills, and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be based out of our Chicago office for the first year, then relocate to the Texas market.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Leadership & Trade Execution

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for key clients, leading discussions on market trends, risk management strategies, and derivative solutions.
  • Structure and execute complex trades with precision, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Oversee pre-execution requirements, documentation, and approvals for Interest Rate Derivatives and related products.

Strategic Market Analysis & Advisory

  • Deliver advanced market research and scenario modeling to support client decision-making.
  • Prepare and present high-impact client materials, including interest rate sensitivity analyses and valuation scenarios under varying rate and volatility environments.
  • Identify pricing anomalies and trading opportunities through technical trend analysis and forecasting.

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Support cross-sell initiatives by collaborating with Relationship Managers, Capital Markets, and Treasury Management teams.
  • Contribute to product innovation and lead go-to-market strategies for new offerings.
  • Assist senior leadership in drafting strategic opportunity memos and client proposals.

Leadership & Organizational Impact

  • Mentor junior team members and guide Analysts and Associate I staff on technical and client-facing skills.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives leveraging technology, analytics, and automation.
  • Build strong internal networks across Capital Markets and external relationships to expand business opportunities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in Sales & Trading or Capital Markets.
  • Strong understanding of FX, Commodities, and Interest Rate Derivatives markets.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver strategic solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Qualified candidates will bring emerging professional proficiency, generally acquired through 3-5 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.

  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in financial modeling and risk analysis.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools; familiarity with AI-driven analytics.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Total Base Pay Range 71,100.00 - 145,900.00 USD Annual

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
