As an Automation Test Analyst at Davies Technology Solutions, you will be a valued member of our quality assurance team, responsible for automated test coverage using Playwright and supporting continuous integration and delivery practices. Your work will help us deliver reliable and high-quality solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and developers to understand project requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI, API, and end-to-end scenarios
- Execute and maintain automated regression test suites
- Contribute to testing activities within agile delivery teams
- Identify and document defects and issues using appropriate bug tracking tools. Meticulously document defects, including replication steps, and proactively suggest remediation strategies.
- Build and maintain tests using the existing Playwright automation framework
- Follow established automation standards and best practices
- Contribute ideas to improve test coverage and efficiency
- Ensure test code is clean, maintainable, and reusable
- Support execution of automated tests within CI/CD pipelines
- Help ensure tests are stable and reliable
- Contribute to test reporting and quality metrics
- Work closely with developers and QA team members to ensure quality outcomes
- Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews)
- Collaborate with senior team members to continuously improve automation practices
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience in test automation in an agile environment
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, including: Writing robust tests, Working within or contributing to a framework
- Experience with modern programming languages (TypeScript/JavaScript preferred)
- Experience automating: UI journeys, APIs, End-to-end workflows
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Exposure to automation frameworks and structured test code
- Experience testing APIs and end-to-end workflows
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps or similar
- Basic understanding of cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment.
- Strong team player with a commitment to fostering a cooperative and productive work environment.
- Experience working with high-volume transaction systems and regulated markets is a plus
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, enabling interaction with diverse stakeholders across the organisation.
