Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Connected Warfare is the Anduril team focused on modernizing the command and control systems that U.S. and Allied forces rely on. New adversaries and new technology call for a different approach to battlefield intelligence, and the products we build to deliver it are ramping quickly in production right now.
We're looking for an engineer to own the mechanical side of one of those products - a system that's already shipping to customers and needs someone to carry it through its production ramp. That means owning the design, but it also means running down the quality issues, drawing errors, and manufacturing headaches that show up when you're building real hardware at volume. It's a role for someone who wants their fingerprints on a product that's actually in the field. If this begins to get you excited, we invite you continue reading to learn more!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the mechanical definition of one or more production products, from the as-shipped configuration through every change that comes after.
- Investigate and resolve quality problems using root cause analysis (RCA) and permanent corrective action (PCA), and make sure the fixes stick.
- Design new components and revise existing ones as the products evolve.
- Feed design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) lessons back into the design to make our production lines faster and more reliable.
- Own the engineering documentation and manage the bill of materials for the final shipped product.
- Serve as the mechanical authority for configuration and change management across every variant.
- Support qualification campaigns that prove the products hold up in real conditions.
- Work day to day with designers, manufacturing engineers, and production partners.
- Travel to exercises to support the products in the field and bring back feedback from the people using them.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
- A track record of owning designs on a team (professional or otherwise).
- Real experience managing a BOM and drawings in a PLM tool.
- Strong CAD skills and the ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings and documentation.
- Fluency with engineering first principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and permanent corrective action (PCA) for quality improvement.
- B.S. or higher in an engineering field.
- U.S. Person status, since this role requires access to export-controlled data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM.
- Experience managing products in medium- to high-volume production (100s of units).
- Ownership of a complex bill of materials for an electromechanical product.
- Comfort with formal change management and running multiple configurations of one product.
- Working knowledge of machining, sheet metal, composites, and 3D printing.
- Active Top Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
