How will you make an impact in this role?
The Credit Risk Team helps enable profitable business growth by reducing the credit risk and maintaining portfolio’s resiliency within the risk appetite. You will work in a highly dynamic and exciting environment and will have the opportunity to shape strategies and policies for American Express products and services. The role will involve collaborating with/supporting team members across the risk organization to ensure smooth running of the business. To succeed in this role, you would need to have a very good blend of technical skills, innovative thinking and relationship building skills.
- Responsible for creation and enhancement of risk indicators in order to improve delinquency rates across SBS/GCP portfolios.
- High Balance Case study: Analyze high balance defaulters of GCP/SBS portfolio, identify new opportunities & partner with cross functional partners to implement strategies.
- Evaluate external data sources - work with third party vendors to understand their product & evaluate its relevance & use case for AMEX.
- Develop Strategies using External/Internal data sources & collaborate with AI/ML teams to solution it - define business requirements, analyze impact and implement controls post UAT.
- Develop risk assessment capabilities using GenAI tools (ChatGPT/Copilot).
- 1+ years of experience in risk analytics or a similar role.
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Economics).
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to apply both quantitative methods and business skills to build insights and get results.
- Strong analytical skills, including a proving ability to translate complex and disparate information to develop a comprehensive and cohesive conclusion for colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders
- Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization collaborating with business partners, functional owners, capabilities, technology teams and external vendors.
- Rigorous and analytical approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization collaboration across teams/geographies.
- Proactive in identifying issues, delivering and calling out key findings, and advising on recommended solutions to correct issues or mitigate risks.
Experience in developing GenAI based capabilities preferred.
