Support Welding Team
- Prepare, review, and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welding Procedure Qualification Test (WPQT) documentation.
- Plan welding procedures by utilizing existing qualified WPS or developing new welding qualifications to meet project requirements.
- Manage welder qualification and continuity records, ensuring welders are qualified in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Coordinate and monitor welder qualification tests with production, QA/QC, third-party inspectors, and certification bodies.
- Review project specifications, engineering drawings, material requirements, and handover documents to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Provide welding engineering support during fabrication and production, including troubleshooting welding-related technical and quality issues.
- Investigate welding non-conformities, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise and coordinate with clients, classification societies, third-party inspectors, and internal stakeholders on welding engineering matters.
- Support welding inspections, procedure approvals, and technical clarifications throughout project execution.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with project specifications, international codes, and company quality standards.
- Promote continuous improvement in welding processes, productivity, and quality performance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification is required.
- Basic understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, fabrication, and welding quality control.
- Familiarity with international welding codes is an advantage.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop in a fabrication environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
