The Integrated Logistics Information Systems Design Specialist is embedded into the IS Design Team and focuses on software development, solution design and continuous improvement of digital capabilities for Integrated Logistics customers, with a strong emphasis on high-tech supply chain solutions within Kuehne+Nagel

How you create impact

• Design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications on IBM i using ILE-RPGLE, Node.js, and other modern technologies;
• Build and enhance visibility and integration solutions through APIs, databases, and Node.js-based frameworks;
• Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and supportable IT solutions;
• Manage the full solution lifecycle from analysis and design to testing, deployment, and post-go-live support;
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, and development standards;
• Utilize strong SQL expertise for data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, and process optimization;
• Ensure seamless integration and reliable data flow across customer and business systems;
• Identify and implement AI and automation use cases that improve productivity, quality, and decision-making;
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and IT experts to optimize logistics processes and supply chain performance;
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and customer-focused solution enhancements for high-tech logistics environments.

What we would like you to bring

• Solid understanding of software development principles and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC);
• Willingness to learn and work with IBM i technologies, including ILE-RPGLE;
• Hands-on experience with Node.js; Python knowledge is an advantage;
• Strong SQL skills, including query development, data analysis, and troubleshooting;
• Experience with APIs, database connectivity frameworks, and system integrations;
• Interest in and understanding of AI, automation, and agent-based solutions;
• Ability to translate business needs into practical and effective technical solutions;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills;
• Experience working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional, customer-oriented environments;
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with an understanding of logistics and supply chain processes being a strong advantage;
• Professional proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of German is highly desirable and considered a strong asset.
