Software Trainee

As an Embedded Software VIE, you will be integrated into a multidisciplinary engineering team. You will be responsible for developing robust, real-time software solutions that interface directly with hardware. Your work will span from initial requirements gathering to final system validation, ensuring all code meets rigorous safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and non-functional software requirements. Translate system specifications into technical software tasks.
• Software Design: Develop scalable and efficient software architectures. Create design documentation, including state machine diagrams and flowcharts, to map out system behavior.
• Implementation & Programming: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Embedded C and C++. You will work on low-level drivers (HAL), middleware, and application-level logic.
• Testing & Validation: Perform Unit, Integration, and System testing. Use debugging tools (JTAG, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers) to troubleshoot hardware-software interactions.
• Compliance: Ensure all development aligns with industry coding guidelines (e.g., MISRA C) and internal quality standards to ensure safety and reliability.

Candidate Profile
Technical Skills:

• Languages: Proficiency in C and C++ specifically for resource-constrained environments (Microcontrollers like STM32, ESP32, or ARM Cortex-M).
• Architectures: Understanding of RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) or Bare-Metal development.
• Tools: Familiarity with Git, IDEs (Keil, IAR, VS Code), and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN bus).
• Testing: Experience with static analysis tools and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing is a plus.

Eligibility & Soft Skills:

• VIE Eligibility: Must meet the criteria for the French International Internship Program (typically European Economic Area citizenship, aged 18–28).
• Problem Solver: A methodical approach to debugging and complex troubleshooting.
• Communicator: Ability to work in a multicultural environment with English as a primary working language.
