Electrical Engineer

Develops conceptual through critical design solutions for complex problems. Provides assistance on unusual problems and reviews work for application of sound professional judgment. Prepares specifications, estimates, and scope of work documents [for both in-house design/outside contractor installation work and design/build subcontract work]. Participates in design reviews for documents produced by design/build subcontractors. Provides comments and identifies discrepancies between subcontractor's design and project requirements. Provides support [for both in-house design/outside contractor installation work and design/build subcontract work] including quantity take offs, estimates, requests for information, submittal reviews, inspections, following the installation & helping resolve construction issues, tracking changes, and reviewing & approving as-builts. Designs electrical equipment interface and installation details for review by senior personnel Coordinates work & collaborates with other engineering disciplines during planning, design, and execution phases of projects. B.S. degree in electrical engineering from a regionally accredited college or university and zero five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive and relevant engineering experience. Current US Citizenship required. Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication. Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards (such as the National Electrical Code and IEEE standards) and design criteria pertinent to the electrical engineering discipline. Educational and/or work experience in dealing with electrical systems or electrical components of mechanical systems. Developmental experience such as practical work experience in design engineering or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operations / maintenance in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or other engineering/construction firms. Professional engineering certification. Experience writing Scope of Work documents. Experience reviewing subcontractor submittals for compliance with design requirements.
