Requirements
Minimum Level of Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Beneficial Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- PMP, PgMP, or Prince2 Practitioner certification
- ITIL Foundation or higher certification
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- Relevant ERP vendor certification (e.g., SYSPRO, SAP, Oracle)
Minimum Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Professional Services, Consulting, or Delivery Operations within an ERP, enterprise software, or technology services organisation
- 8+ years in senior leadership roles (Director / VP level) with direct P&L ownership for a services business of meaningful scale
- Demonstrated track record of building and scaling global delivery organisations across multiple geographies, including establishing nearshore/offshore delivery centres
- Experience leading delivery transformation from project-based to packaged/managed-service and productised commercial models
- Proven ability to manage large, complex ERP implementation programmes with multi-million-dollar budgets
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the global professional services delivery operation, ensuring consistent, high‑quality execution of packaged and complex implementation engagements across all regions.
- Establish and scale a cost‑effective, high‑performing delivery capability based in South Africa as a global centre of delivery excellence.
- Design, implement, and govern the global delivery operating model, including regional delivery hubs, centres of excellence, partner delivery enablement, and shared services structures.
- Define and enforce a unified delivery methodology with clear stage‑gate governance, quality controls, risk‑management processes, and escalation protocols.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for critical delivery risks, programme failures, customer issues, and commercial disputes, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal business impact.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, data‑governance standards, and regional regulatory requirements across all delivery engagements.
- Lead global resource and workforce planning by driving demand forecasting, capacity modelling, utilisation management, and skills‑mix optimisation across direct and partner delivery teams.
- Build and maintain a scalable resourcing model that supports both repeatable, productised services and more complex, bespoke delivery programmes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing global delivery leadership team, with clear performance expectations, succession planning, and career development pathways.
- Own and manage professional services commercial performance by defining portfolio economics, pricing governance, margin targets, and cost‑to‑serve models.
- Participate in deal‑desk reviews for large, complex engagements to ensure delivery feasibility, pricing discipline, and margin protection.
- Drive the transition from project‑based delivery models to recurring, packaged, and productised service offerings aligned to SYSPRO’s transformation strategy.
- Continuously improve delivery cost efficiency through process standardisation, automation, and leverage of the South Africa delivery hub.
- Establish real‑time operational and financial insight through dashboards and reporting frameworks covering project health, backlog, revenue recognition, and profitability.
- Deliver accurate forecasting, monthly business reviews, and executive‑level reporting to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Champion continuous improvement through delivery retrospectives, lessons‑learned practices, tooling investments, and operational enablement initiatives.
- Lead the development of delivery playbooks, accelerators, and standardised delivery blueprints that enable scalable, repeatable execution.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, Engineering, Finance, and HR to ensure seamless pre‑sales‑to‑delivery handovers, scope integrity, and alignment with product roadmaps and commercial commitments.
- Govern the professional services operating model end‑to‑end, ensuring it evolves in line with market demand, product maturity, and corporate strategy.
- Act as a senior internal and external delivery leader, engaging with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to represent SYSPRO’s delivery capability credibly and consistently.
Special Skills and Knowledge
- Deep expertise in Professional Services delivery methodologies, project/programme management, and governance frameworks
- Strong financial acumen: services P&L management, pricing strategy, margin optimisation, and revenue recognition
- Expertise in resource and capacity planning, demand forecasting, and workforce management at scale
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence at board and C-suite level
- Data-driven decision making with experience using PSA platforms, BI/analytics tools, and delivery dashboards
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills for complex deal structuring and partner engagement
- Change leadership capability to drive cultural and operational transformation across a global organisation
- Knowledge of ERP ecosystems, cloud delivery models, and enterprise digital transformation trends
