Seasonal Horseracing Event Staff

Seasonal Event Staff support daily operations during the horse racing season by providing exceptional guest service and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Team members may be assigned to various duties, including cleaning, bartending, barback support, maintenance, event setup, and general facility operations. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced entertainment environment.

 

  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to guests, vendors, and racing participants.
  • Assist guests with directions, seating, and general event information.
  • Support special events, promotions, and race-day activities.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and safety standards.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Verify guest age and identification before serving alcohol.
  • Process cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and report concerns to management
  • Stock beer, liquor, wine, mixers, ice, cups, and other bar supplies.
  • Assist bartenders with maintaining efficient service during peak periods.
  • Remove empty bottles, trash, and recyclables.
  • Restock inventory throughout events and race days.
  • Keep storage and service areas organized and clean.
  • Clean and sanitize guest areas, restrooms, dining spaces, bars, and common areas.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility.
  • Address spills and hazards promptly to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist with post-event cleaning and facility reset.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs as assigned.
  • Assist with event setup and teardown, including moving tables, chairs, signs, and equipment.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and equipment issues.
  • Support groundskeeping and facility appearance standards.
  • Operate equipment and tools safely following established procedures.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, food and beverage, maintenance, or event operations preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work around large crowds, loud environments, and live horse racing activities.
  • Flexible schedule based on racing and event calendars.
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events.
