DERMS Data Architecture & Integration Specialist Role & Experience / Skills
- Engage with our utility clients to understand their Business Needs and how our solution can align, meet and exceed their business needs.
- Work collaboratively with a strong team of Technical Solution Specialists to provide input on solution architecture & integration needs based on client needs and solution capabilities. Define success criteria and contribute solution integration and / or architecture diagrams for the project.
- Conducts peer review of application designs and works with the application areas to ensure that project data modelling (including Network Model) requirements are met.
- Skilled in performing data profiling, creating source-to-target mapping documents, and ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the modelling process.
- Experience working with Data Architecture tools like Erwin and Enterprise Architect.
- Participate in deploying GE GridOS DERMS solutions to client environments.
- Prepare input data such as network model files, load & generation forecasts, future planning scenarios, and generation cost data.
- Lead in training the DERMS data models to ensure client success factors are met.
- Prepare, modify, and configure client and testing input data for solutions by creating scripts and automating data processing systems.
- Convert and validate client CIM distribution network models using development tools and scripts, validating powerflow results.
- Collaborate with our Service Engineering development lead during the development cycle to ensure all custom deliverables meet defined needs and standards.
- Respond to all client inquiries, participate in triage meetings, and submit product ideas for in-flight projects submitting tickets for the Product team.
- Perform data specific use case testing runs including factory and site acceptance testing.
- Debug SQL and model issues, documenting issues for the testing teams.
- Hands-On experience, with certification a plus, with cloud solutions such as AWS.
- Data Modelling needs and experience we seek:
- 5+ years of hands-on data modelling experience (including data analysis)
- Experience in data management and in data integration in a utility vertical
- Hands-On experience with modeling tools such as: Erwin, Oracle Data Modeler, Power BI
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB like: Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server, Teradata, etc.
- Conceptual, logical, and physical modeling experience
- ER (Entity-Relationship) and dimensional modeling
- Data Management: Include responsibilities related to data quality and governance.
- Data governance and data standards
- Data architecture and data warehousing
- Data Vault modeling
- ETL processes
- Gathering & understand requirements, translating business requirements into data models
- Facilitating data requirements sessions
- Designed and implemented database structures using SQL Server
- Created and maintained source-to-target mapping documents
- Provided data model overviews and training to stakeholders at various levels of the organization
- Train utility clients and end users on how to use GE GridOS DERMS to achieve their business cases.
Complementary / Nice to have Skills:
- Experience.
- You have strong electricity industry knowledge (E.g. SCADA, ADMS, OT, OMS etc.), with 5+ years relevant work experience.
- You will bring enterprise software, with data integration skills and experience.
- You are comfortable automating processes and utilizing or building scripting solutions to support product solutions.
- Experience with enterprise software full stack development, including backend development and scripting including Java, Python, and DB connector experience.
- DevOps hands exposure or experience.
- Cybersecurity hands on experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and deployment activities (Azure and / or GCP)
- Experience with power system analysis software (eg OpenDSS, CYME, Powerfactory, Synergi etc.)
- Knowledge.
- You are highly familiar with emerging energy industry trends and implications on utility clients in DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA and asset management with a strong background in analysis.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $119,600.00 and $179,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
