The Finance trainee apprentice will support key forecasting, analytics, automation, and process transformation initiatives within the International Net Loss Provision Forecasting team. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial forecasting, data analytics, automation, and emerging AI technologies while working on high-impact business problems while experiencing the dynamic world of Amex Finance every day.

  • Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of forecasting and analytical processes for international credit loss and reserve forecasting.

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, drivers, variances, and emerging portfolio risks to support business decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python, SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of forecasting processes.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytical tools that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates ability to understand system architecture and interlinkages 

  • Identify opportunities to optimize and enhance existing reporting processes and workflows through automation

  • Collaborate with other Finance teams/functions in gathering relevant and reliable information to meet the requirements of the role

  • Provide tactical support to ongoing projects 

  • Assist in preparation/refresh of standard operating procedures

  • Ensure adherence to company’s financial policies 

  • Leverage Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Custom GPTs to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance analytical capabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent, with(out) maximum of 11 months of experience 

  • Hands-on experience on SQL/Python/other programming languages. 

  • Basic understanding of Finance concepts and, appreciation of role and criticality of Finance in a multinational company 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exhibits positive attitude, agility and willingness to learn and develop
