Assistant Engineer - Reporting & Automation

Overview

PIMS Engineers are responsible for integrating the right technologies and streamlining processes to manage organizational deliverables efficiently. They analyze complex business challenges and implement automated systems to enhance productivity and decision-making.

Your role

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain Common Data Environment (CDE): Ensure centralized, secure, and structured data management across all project phases.
• System Implementation & Efficiency Improvement: Deploy new systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Advanced Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain advanced reports and dashboards using modern automation and analytics tools.
• Standardization & Automation: Drive consistency across projects by implementing standardized processes and automation solutions.
• Project Mobilization: Support the setup and mobilization of new projects, ensuring foundational systems and processes are in place.
• Project Management & Controls: Apply strong foundational knowledge in project management and project controls, including cost, schedule, and risk management.

 About you

Automation & Digital Tools

• Collaborate with project teams to identify automation opportunities and implement lean techniques.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement through automation and standardization across project controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate) and Excel (including VBA).
• Basic knowledge of Python or other automation tools is highly desirable.

Basic awareness of AI concepts, including prompt writing, AI-assisted automation, and responsible use of AI tools to improve reporting, data analysis, and process efficiency.

Data Analytics & Reporting

• Analyze large datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI.
• Define and monitor KPIs, build data models, and perform DAX queries.
• Deliver customized ad hoc reports and support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline.
• Master’s degree in construction management, Project Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience on global projects (UK, Middle East, or US), preferably in a consultancy role.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in data analytics and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of earned value management concepts and calculations.
• Basic knowledge of Primavera P6 and report generation.

Foundational understanding of AI-enabled productivity tools and their practical application in project delivery, reporting, and workflow automation.

Preferred Skills

• Accreditation in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and O365 applications.
• Automation skills using Power apps , Power automate , Python, or similar technologies.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs.
