Are you passionate about technology, problem-solving, and improving the way businesses use applications? Join Caterpillar as an IT Analyst II – Manufacturing Applications and play a key role in supporting, testing, and implementing business-critical application systems.
In this role, you'll work closely with business and technical teams to help deliver reliable, efficient technology solutions. You'll gain exposure to application development, systems testing, requirements gathering, integration activities, and user support while building your career within Caterpillar's global Technology, Digital & Data organization. Key Responsibilities
- Support and administration of manufacturing applications and shopfloor technologies
- First line technical support for SAP ME, manufacturing automation solutions, and connected production systems
- Support to the Business of Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure including industrial PCs, printers, cameras, scanners, manufacturing devices, and associated network connectivity
- Troubleshooting and resolution of complex application, infrastructure, integration, and manufacturing system issues
- Delivery and support of system integrations between manufacturing equipment, shopfloor applications, enterprise systems, and cloud services
- Technical leadership for new technology deployments, upgrades, migrations, and digital transformation projects
- Development of technical documentation, support procedures, and operational readiness activities
- Driving automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting cybersecurity, network segmentation, device onboarding, and compliance activities within manufacturing environments
- Acting as one of the local technology focal points for systems and OT support while working closely with central IT, infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendors, and business stakeholders
Key skills and experience sought:
- Manufacturing systems support experience within a production environment
- Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) and shopfloor devices
- Application support and troubleshooting experience
- Systems integration and connectivity knowledge
- Network and infrastructure troubleshooting capability
- Experience working across IT and manufacturing operation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES), SAP ME, automation technologies, or industrial connectivity would be highly desirable
Required Skills
- Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Understanding of enterprise application systems and how they support business operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience gathering requirements and documenting technical solutions
- Knowledge of system testing methodologies and application support processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, finance, or operations environments
- Exposure to SQL, APIs, ERP systems, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft technologies, Power BI, or related platforms
- Understanding of system integrations and data flows
- Experience with application testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), or software deployment
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
What We Offer
Salary: Gross £41,593- £50,000 (depending on experience)
