Head of Financial Services, LatAm

Sao Paulo, BrazilFull-timePosted Jul 24, 2026

About the Role

Uber is looking for an experienced technical and business leader to drive the creation, scaling, and operations of our financial services across Latin America (LatAm). As one of four regional pillars reporting to the Global Head of Financial Business, this role oversees the build and business performance of our financial products in the region.

You will own the LatAm P&L for financial services, driving adoption, growth, and financial contribution, while ensuring our products seamlessly support and enable Uber’s mobility and delivery businesses. Critically, you will navigate the complex and highly regulated LatAm financial landscape, ensuring all products are compliant, localized for regional nuances, and built to thrive in a dynamic market.

What You’ll Do

  • Regional Strategy & Execution: Adapt and execute Uber’s global financial product strategy using deep local market knowledge of the LatAm ecosystem.
  • P&L Ownership: Oversee regional P&L performance, driving growth, user adoption, and profitability targets across key LatAm markets.
  • Product Localization & Launch: Work alongside the global product organization and regional business leaders to design, launch, and operate features that drive growth within the LatAm financial services sector.
  • Ecosystem Synergy: Partner closely with Uber's LatAm Mobility and Delivery leadership to provide the right level of internal "service" and ensure financial products add direct value to the core businesses.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to design, negotiate, and implement vital local partnerships (e.g., local banks, payment gateways, and fintechs) required for regional success.
  • Technical & Regulatory Leadership: Provide technical leadership in designing and operating financial products while navigating diverse and stringent regulatory frameworks across different LatAm countries.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Build strong relationships with Uber's senior leadership globally and regionally across Product, Engineering, BD, Policy, Tax, Regulatory, and Strategic Finance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, distributed team across multiple LatAm countries, managing across different cultures, languages, and time zones.

What You’ll Need

  • 8+ years of work experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or tech, with 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Deep LatAm Expertise: Proven experience building and scaling financial solutions within Latin America's fast-paced, technology-savvy, and highly regulated environments.
  • Technical Acumen: Technical expertise in the design, build, and operationalization of a financial product portfolio.
  • Risk & Governance: Solid understanding and background in handling regional risk, compliance, and regulatory governance issues.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience managing relationships and communicating proactively with internal matrixed teams and external regional partners.
  • Language Skills: English fluency is required; fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is highly preferred (or required, depending on your team's exact needs).
  • Impeccable judgment, integrity, and ability to set an ethical example.
  • MBA is a plus.

Leadership Capabilities

  • Self-Starter: Engages others without having formal authority. Creates partnerships. Can compromise appropriately to achieve results. Builds enduring relationships across various verticals, functions, and geographies.
  • Strategic Thinker: Focuses on larger, longer-term issues and creates plans and strategies. Develops a strategy that conceptualizes and incorporates complex LatAm market issues and provides a clear concept for the future that people understand.
  • General Manager Mindset: Drives toward top business performance. Pushes to meet or beat goals and personally improves performance—changes what the organization can do, creating greater results.
  • Global & Regional Mindset: Engaging seamlessly across cultures of all kinds. Bridges the gap between global headquarters' vision and local LatAm execution, creating partnerships across cultural barriers.
