Senior Manager of Revenue Technology & Automation

VirtualPosted Aug 3, 2026

About the Role

This role owns the platform and campaign execution layer of AvidXchange's revenue marketing org — and leads the build of AI-driven automation that powers it. This role is responsible for Marketo, LeanData, Artisan, and Conversica, and for the team that runs them day-to-day.

This is a player-coach role with real strategic surface area. You will set campaign architecture standards, govern platform performance, and drive data-driven optimization while leading two direct reports. You will hold a standing seat in campaign planning alongside Demand Generation — bringing an informed point of view on channel mix, program sequencing, and what the automation infrastructure can actually support, not waiting for strategy to be finalized before the build begins.

The AI component of this role is not a future state — it is current work. You will own the strategic use and continuous development of Claude, Artisan, and Conversica as AI-driven campaign platforms, and will partner with the Sr. Director of Revenue Systems & Process to expand agentic automation use cases across the revenue and marketing org. This person is the execution engine for agentic marketing; the Sr. Director holds the broader revenue org vision.

What You'll Do:

Campaign Strategy & Calendar

  • Co-own the campaign planning calendar with Demand Generation, including program sequencing, channel allocation, and audience segmentation logic across Marketo, Artisan, Conversica, and Sendoso.
  • Bring platform performance data, channel capability context, and AI-driven program insights into planning rituals — not just execution readiness.

Campaign Performance & Attribution

  • Own campaign performance reporting across the full marketing automation stack; define and maintain KPIs for each program type and deliver a monthly performance review to Demand Gen and RevOps leadership with clear recommendations.
  • Design and maintain multi-touch attribution models that accurately reflect campaign influence on pipeline; partner with Buyer Ops / Analytics to ensure upstream data structures support downstream reporting.

AI & Agentic Automation

  • Own the strategic deployment and performance of Artisan and Conversica as AI-driven campaign platforms — accountable for program design, audience logic, and results across the BDR and marketing org.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Revenue Systems & Process to scope and execute net-new agentic automation use cases; build repeatable frameworks for how AI-driven programs get scoped, tested, approved, and monitored.
  • Evaluate emerging AI marketing tools and bring recommendations to leadership on what to adopt, pilot, or deprioritize — grounded in use case fit and platform capability.

Platform Ownership & MarTech Governance

  • Own, administer, and govern the full marketing technology stack: Marketo (Org 1 and Org 2), LeanData, Artisan, Conversica, and Sendoso — including instance health, database hygiene, privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and vendor relationship management.
  • Own MQL routing logic, lead-to-account matching, and attribution model configuration in LeanData; maintain the accuracy and integrity of how leads land with the right rep.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop three direct reports — two Marketing Automation Managers and one GTM Automation Engineer — setting clear expectations, development goals, and capacity visibility across the team.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Demand Generation, Revenue Operations, BizApps, and Analytics to align on data flow, lead routing, and campaign execution standards.

What We're Looking For:

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing operations or revenue operations, with at least 4 years managing a team.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Marketo — you can build, review, and troubleshoot programs, not just manage others who do. Marketo Certified Expert preferred.
  • Working knowledge of lead routing platforms (LeanData or equivalent) and how routing logic connects to campaign segmentation and attribution.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-driven marketing platforms — Conversica, Artisan, or comparable outbound AI or conversation automation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or iterate on lead scoring models and multi-touch attribution frameworks.
  • Ability to read campaign performance data and form an independent point of view on what is and is not working — and communicate it clearly to marketing leadership.
  • Track record of working cross-functionally with Demand Generation as a strategic peer, not just a service provider.
  • Comfort operating in a RevOps-led structure where marketing systems sit alongside sales systems under shared governance.

Who You Are

  • Strategically grounded — you have opinions on campaign mix, channel approach, and AI program design, and you can back them up with data.
  • Platform-deep — you understand the tools well enough to know what is possible, what is risky, and what will break at scale.
  • Curious about AI — you follow where the space is going, you've used the tools hands-on, and you know the difference between a well-designed AI program and one that just looks like one.
  • Collaborative without being passive — you work closely with Demand Gen but are not an order-taker; you bring a point of view into the room.
  • Clear communicator — you can translate technical platform constraints and AI program logic into language that makes sense to a marketing or sales leader.
  • Energized by the pace of a revenue team — comfortable with shifting priorities, hard deadlines, and a lot of moving parts.
