IT Director - Latin America
Job summary
Direct the LATAM operation including IT development, infrastructure installation and maintenance, security, troubleshooting, policy and procedure direction and administration. Lead IT goals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Partner with IT Global management teams and lead IT team in Latin American region.
This position reports to the International Chief Information Officer and has a matrixed reporting structure to the President – Latin America.
Leadership
- Lead IT teams in 6 different countries across Latin America.
- Develop and execute the Latin America technology strategy aligned with regional and global business objectives, ensuring technology investments generate measurable business value.
Engage with corporate and regional teams to provide a consultative, proactive approach to IT needs by developing a deep understanding of the organization’s business, industry, products and processes, and short- and long-term objectives.
Cybersecurity & Technology Governance
- Lead cybersecurity governance, ensuring adherence to corporate cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and incident response protocols.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT and Compliance departments to ensure IT general practices are compliant in the Latin American region.
- Conduct IT audits and make recommendations based on findings by providing problem resolution through policies and procedures interpretation.
- Ensure consistent technology governance while addressing local regulatory, operational, and business requirements across all Latin American countries.
Service Delivery & Digital Transformation
- Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Plan, organize, and launch new IT products and services. Apply effective project management practices for IT business development and infrastructure related initiatives.
- Lead regional project scopes, from plan to execution. Build and maintain detailed project management plans to include resources, schedule and cost components.
- Establish and monitor regional service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators to ensure exceptional end-user technology support.
- Recommend adjustments to systems and/or equipment to ensure cost efficient and effective systems/equipment infrastructure. Analyzes and coordinates implementation of systems and technology enhancements.
- In conjunction with global IT Operations teams, ensure region IT service delivery is up to agreed standards with a continuous improvement focus.
Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy
- Own regional cloud infrastructure strategy, optimization, governance, and adoption in alignment with enterprise architecture standards and global strategic objectives.
- Accountable for Disaster Recovery architecture and functional viability
- Accountable for the Corporate data network, servers, workstation fleet, and storage
Financials
- Own the annual Latin America IT operating and capital budgets, ensuring effective financial planning, governance, resource allocation, and return on technology investments.
- Corporate IT Asset management for all computer equipment and license agreements.
- Strategically develop and implement Corporate Capital Expenditure plans and forecasts.
- Develop cost projections for new projects/initiatives in support of Operations.
Human Resources
- Build and develop a high-performing regional technology organization through talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Conduct applicable performance reviews and review compensation levels.
- Develop and implement training and development plans.
Procurement
- Negotiate with vendors and providers.
- Development and issuance of RFP/RFQ
- Establish preferred vendor selection.
- Manage and maintain vendor relationships.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience at medium-to-large-scale project initiatives (and teams) in the IT business partner development and/or infrastructure arena
Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree (MBA or Technology-related discipline) preferred.
